What may be easy for you may not be easy for others. For many players, the current level of difficulty is just right for them. Some players have minor disabilities such as partial blindness or motor stiffness and appreciate that it is still possible to play this game and participate in all forms of content.

It is extremely ableist to suggest that the game has been "dumbed down" because it encourages harassment. Moreover it is an ableist insult that has no place in the community. When you say that the game has been "dumbed down" you are implying that only dumb people now enjoy the game. This couldn't be further from the truth. Some players enjoy simplicity because they may be stressed or are dealing with PTSD and do not want to handle complex, stressful tasks. Some players enjoy simplicity because they may be dealing with anxiety and do not wish to handle potential name-calling when playing stressful games. Some players may be depressed which lowers their motivation to play extremely complex games, and the simplicity allows them a small escape while they heal.

What some players see as "dumbed down", I see as a comprehensive and elegant way to increase the accessibility of the game so that players of all stripes, disabilities, and video game experience can participate without feeling shunned or unwelcome. Next time, please consider whether saying words like "dumbed down" is actually soft bigotry.
