Question for p10s turrets as a tank

I've got a general question for p10s as (any) tank on turrets. Our static is doing the strat where you keep the turrets pointed straight. The last three pulls when we got "cursed pattern", upon reaching the last set of turrets where OT and I are both obligated to take them solo, one of us or the other ends up running over and baiting both at the same time, leaving it impossible for the other tank to get their respective turret to detach from the other. What is causing this and how can this be corrected? I thought of possibly just positioning ourselves diagonally on the 3rd set of turrets in order to get to the 4th set faster, but why is this happening in the first place? Is there a timer?

The turrets are jank as f*** and likely swap targets per servertick, so every 3s. No idea why its like that.

This can be corrected by having the third set not shoot straight.

While the beams are pointed straight, the knockback technically radiates from the origin point of the beam; That means you can angle the knockback diagonally by standing at an angle within the beam itself, despite the beam being technically being straight, which will enable you to reach the turrets quickly enough to ensure they lock onto you.

Edit: The lock-in indeed happens on a timer. It seems to take a number of seconds to update, so you need to reach the turrets as quickly as possible to ensure they lock in. This also opens up interesting possibilities for greeding attacks, as if you can predictably lock the turret onto you, you know you will have a grace period in which you can run in and land an attack on the boss once it's locked in without it locking onto someone else.

Shoot the first and thrid set diagonally across the arena. You'll save yourself a massive amount of headaches. Well shoot them straight but shoot yourself diagonally across.

The problem is they are shooting the 3rd beams straight.

As some have said, diagonal turrets gives tanks more time to position for the last set. If they really want to keep it straight turrets for the third set, you can position yourself to still get angled slightly but standing on the outside edge of the laser beam. It wont get you as far as diagonal, but it will give you both less distance to travel and position before it snapshots.
