You pay 2$ less (12.99) than the usual Standard (14.99) if you go for 30 Day payments.

You cap out on 8 characters in total across all Servers, but shouldn't be an issue for the normal player.

The amount of content we've received for our money has gone down over the years. Titanmen's idea of a reduction for certain people is ridiculous but the idea of bringing the price down for everyone wouldn't be, all things considered. Not saying that SE would ever do it, of course they won't.

sure, the amount has gone down, but I challenge you to come up with any other activity you can do daily that costs only 50 cents a day, and potentially do it for a full day. (I realize fully that you wouldnt want to spend 24 hours a day in 14, but you could....)

No, the prices are fine as they are. As has already been pointed out, there is a cheaper payment option available for players who might not be able to afford the standard subscription. Furthermore, FFXIV is a game; as such, it isn't a necessity.

Therefore, if a person is not able to afford either the Entry or Standard cost, they are not unduly burdened by not being able to play this MMO, and likely have better things to spend their money on.

I propose that we reduce the subscription fee by $3 per month for players from an underprivileged and underserved background and community. Although $3 may seem like a small gesture, every little bit of gesture helps right now. Square Enix, please do the right thing and allow players from these backgrounds to feel heard in your game.

Uh, WRONG! You see, the developers are in fact the most underprivileged people in the FFXIV community. Think about it, they do all of this hard work for just $13 a month. Meanwhile, we just sit here and complain. If anything, we should tip the developers for all the hard work they do. Why isn't there a tip option at checkout in the online store? I'm sure that many of us would love to support them.

No, they are not fine. Subscriptions to an MMO haven't gone up with inflation since 2000. In fact, FFXIV is cheaper than WoW when that game first launched in 2003. We're not paying nearly enough. We need to pay more.
