They're the jobs, but they're not until *35. If the game goes to 50, then first expansion 60, then 75, it's not a whole lot of time to enjoy them. "awesome, i'm a whm. but i can't actually BE a whm for very long." And it feels like the "we want to add whm/blm/thf/war/mnk but we can't just cahnge anyone, so we'll add it later in the game." If they wanted to change that, this would be the time. It felt like an after-thought that htey wanted but didn't have a way to incorporate from the start.

why would they spend all the time developing it just to change it again? thats a massive waste of resources
this subject has been touched on a bunch already, and it wont happen, and youll have to live with that

Hello little taru,
As mentioned, it has been stated that there will be no resetting of levels or loosing of experience, equipment, etc. Of course everyone is allowed to start a whole new character if they wish, but it is not required.
There should be a new 'world' created where no pre-existing player is allowed. The upside of course is that you can experience a world that is fresh to adventurers. The downside of course is that there will be no high-level players to help you out for a while. I do not know how busy this new world would be, but I imagine the PS3 players may go there?
As for wishing to start re-levelling. If you are not 50 in all jobs you can still level up some of your DoW/DoM jobs on existing servers. Not everyone is level 50 in all jobs (I dare say those are the minority) so you should find plenty of people who would be happy to level with you. Especially if/when they release new jobs.

Really guys enough with these posts, while battle classes are not all that difficult to level up I can assure you that legitimately (no botting/other lame techniques) leveling a crafting or gathering class takes some serious effort. People have put in 2 years of their time and rightly expect it to be there. Many of us are now Legacy members and as such plan on creating alts for fun or to experience the lower levels of the game with a fresh character.
In addition, I very much hope that there are some new classes at launch that I can enjoy exploring the game as all the maps will have changed and much of the content as we know it will be altered. Quite a few people out there will be in a rush to get all the new aetherytes on the first day and spam any new jobs to max within a few days/week. But that is their loss, take your time and enjoy whatever new content we get with a new job or an alt![]()
Just your friendly neighborhood elezen

I'm sure I'll roll alt or two just so I can level up jobs from scratch after the disappointing way SE added jobs to the game (Equip stone and boom your new awesome Paladin is just your old GLA with 5 new abilities. in toys terms imagine a transformers figure you have and they release a new one but turns out its the same one you have but with a different color scheme and a new gun but its pretty much the same one you have.)

Still hoping they'll work on that but meh... I guess I can live with it if any new exciting jobs we might get are just the same ones we have but with 5 extra abilities, and just try to do more endgame stuff.

well when SE is going to implement new classes/jobs for 2.0. they also have to be leveled from lv 1 on.I'm wondering if they plan to reset the levels once 2.0 launches. As much as it would kind of suck to start over, the leveling process is something i really enjoyed in ffxi. Now everyone is 50, but i strictly didn't level a bunch of stuff just so i could level in 2.0 once thigns are fixed. I want it all slowed down. Most people took advantage of the power levels and went strait to 50 with everything. Which means the rest of us have no one to level with. As much as I love my accomplishments in xiv thus far, I'm seriously considering rerolling for 2.0.
I've been away for a bit and haven't been reading much, so I'm not sure what's been said about this. Anyone else have thoughts?
and i think there will be also many new players (because of ps3 release, reboot etc.)

I hope the new jobs are whm, blm, war, thf, mnk. Not rdm though, because I don't like them. Maybe we can keep lnc in favor of it.
I didn't think of the new players from ps3 though. Still, I'd be super sad to see my old ls go. Maybe I can just delete and remake iwth the same name. Though then i'd have no one to play with. Maybe it wasn't that way on other servers, but everyone minus new players are all 50's...
Which reminds me, why are there random new players all of a sudden? I encountered a bunch of them this past weekend.
