thats what i literally said just with more words lolJust play the game mode you personally like and have a better time than worrying about a mode you don't want to interact with. You would have a much better time with the game if you didn't have to worry about a group of people that aren't affecting you in anyway at all.
you know whats also selfish? whining about needing incentives to play a mode then getting mad when people offer up good ideas to help ranked.

I don't see a lot of people get mad about things that fix the mode outside of like one guy here tbh. Mostly because there just other issues with the mode that extend beyond just material incentives, speaking as one of the wild freaks who does play that mode.
well im glad somebody is aware of the modes issues i guess, me honestly i couldn't really care less as its casual mode is a carbon copy of ranked yet its more fun to play.
the stop gap suggestion i made earlier was just to make people less likely to want to cheat in the event of there suddenly being material rewards in ranked.
FOMO rewards in ranked brings the worst out of some people so of course we will see a increase in cheaters.
Locking them behind a certain rank is ok, and there's no "fomo" (kinda) this time since they are always available. No, the issue to get them is to find games to rank up if you're late into the season...
another reason why quesyncing/wintrading rampant lol
nobody can find matches... so what do they do? the next best thing.
also would it not also be technically fomo if they cannot find matches at all beyond a certain point in the season?
If we count refarmable / reobtainable rewards as FOMO because you are late in a season then honestly either the definition of what FOMO is got way too loose and/or the player is to be blamed for not caring until the last moment.
Edit/Addendum - Nevertheless, whatever they had in mind with Commendation Crystals (ranked currency) to be only obtainable at Diamond+ completely backfired at incentivizing lesser skilled players to keep playing at Bronze-to-Gold queues.
As ugly as it sounds, but without the fresh blood or stepping stones in the queue, people are more likely to not queue if the queue lasts too damn long. We can complain all day about "we want people to play ranked because they should enjoy ranked" but noone who could enjoy ranked can enjoy it if the damn thing struggles to pop.

Wheeee... this brings me to a earlier point i made... but ehh... at this point it kinda feels like dumping salt on a snail..If we count refarmable / reobtainable rewards as FOMO because you are late in a season then honestly either the definition of what FOMO is got way too loose and/or the player is to be blamed for not caring until the last moment.

the fact that this is happening means the people who actually enjoy ranked are in the super minority
Risking going in a circle here, but - people fundamentally do not hate ranked or find it unenjoyable in a vacuum, the extensive queue times due to a lack of low rating participation is something everyone unanimously agrees on to be awful.
Long queue times suck regardless of content and will give people skewed perception of any particular content - frontlines before daily cycle of maps, Normal Alex raids and Alliance Raids before their respective Raid roulettes had difficulty to be accessed, which made engaging with the content unenjoyable given how long you had to wait for it.
So no, I don't think Ranked is unpopular because it is Ranked, it is fundamentally just Casual with a Rating system (and in my opinion with minimal or lack of incentive over Casual, depending on tier) - it suffers immensely from the downward spiral of long queue times hampering the experience. One obvious way to ensure more players have a bigger window to try it is by incentivizing lower ranks better with something they can get in ranked but even at bronze.
For all we know there would be many more who'd enjoy it more if the wait time was less.

I rather EX/Savage/Ultimate just not exist at all. But if it's going to have any rewards, they absolutely should never go back to the silly Partyfinder/static method. Especially in a game mode abused by add-ons, cheaters, and paid clears. Let's stop enticing bad behavior with unique rewards.
You're right I don't care for rewards locked behind EX/Savage/Ultimate as I strongly and will die on this hill that EX/Savage/Ultimate shouldn't exist at all. High level PvE is unfair, it's filled with cheaters, and any sort of incentive they try to entice me to play it with a carrot on a stick rewards makes me puke. Until they actually make the mode fun and enjoyable and CLEARS actually achievable without playing RNG partyfinder, my stance will not change. I'd be happier if they scrapped the whole thing down and reworked PvE to just be more fun. But instead of that, they overvalue the high level side of things and every single other PvE mode ever made has to suffer for it.You're right I don't care for rewards locked behind ranked as I strongly and will die on this hill that rank shouldn't exist at all. Sorry this was just too funny to pass up lol xD
If any SE developer happens to chance upon this post, please be confident that you are justified in ignoring the western forums, haha.

If they get rid of ranked or not idgaf, i just think they should give it the ultimate raid treatment and give yall the feast weps that glow.
Yall have your cake and eat too while everybody else more or less avoids it because its a waste of time thats not fun.
Nothing kills a mode faster then Apathy![]()
