Saying that a mode of difficulty that you don't like should just die off is very selfish. Just play the game mode you personally like and have a better time than worrying about a mode you don't want to interact with. You would have a much better time with the game if you didn't have to worry about a group of people that aren't affecting you in anyway at all.

I don't see a lot of people get mad about things that fix the mode outside of like one guy here tbh. Mostly because there just other issues with the mode that extend beyond just material incentives, speaking as one of the wild freaks who does play that mode.
