The difference with those is that they're not Almost Identical. Augmented hellhound is literally just the Exact same weapon with glowy aura. Again, Why farm them out?

The glows being bad feels very intentional on the devs part. Wanting to give rewards to players who get to the higher difficulty but not make people feel bad for not being able to get the glows easily (even though that's the exact treatment people get with savage/ultimate rewards). To give credit though I think the glows on the weapons looks better than most since from what I've seen the glows are actually modeled around the weapon and aren't like Ultimate weapons where they look horrible to look at.The particle effects overwhelm a lot of the weapons, It doesn't look good on any of them, I personally don't even like how the majority of the non particle effect weapons look. It's not an award worthy of people who farmed out some of the highest ranks CC has to offer, especially when you can just spend crystals to get the non particle effect versions.
Imagine Ultimate weapons being released with a variant thats almost identical, just without particle/lighting effects. Hardly motivation to make you want to grind for the "enhanced" version.
less is always more when it comes to weapon glows for me.The glows being bad feels very intentional on the devs part. Honestly as long as ranked remains unattractive to play for the broad majority of players, it's quite frankly wasted dev time for such a small amount of ppl even if you like to feel like a special snowflake you'll have to check the bigger picture.
Would you rather have more people to join up the fun and maybe discover a fun pvp mode or do you want to stick with the same 9 other people in a 10 minute queue for piece of pixels?
At least if I were the one who created those rewards, I would have liked for the majority to enjoy the stuff I created and not fade into obscurity for being too obnoxious to obtain (we're talking about a 50/50 coinflip mode here)

I see the point from the rest of the post and generally don't disagree with it, however I've seen the 50:50 coinflip term used a lot and it starts to irk me.
What exactly drives people to call things a "coinflip"? Who uses it and how much experience do they have? From my personal experience at least, not only do I not care about the so-called "coinflip" of "oh no they got X and I didn't" (fill the variable as you like) because that would just take away focus from me just playing the game to the best of my ability, I also think the coinflip rhetoric gets repeated possibly by a large group of players who are under the illusion that their impact doesn't matter and therefore don't invest well into improving their own skillsets. Learning matchups, learning survival rotations, gaining gamesense about when it is time to leave a fight or when you should go deep to punish someone or waste a lot of time for them. Shoot, knowing when to 1v1 or 1v2 on a flank is a skillset you could learn and use your matchup knowledge for.
If HALF the people complaining about coinflips put as much energy into improving themselves actively striving to not be the weak link in a match as they do for hyperfocusing on "oh no I lose coinflip I lose, nice RNG" the quality of the matches would improve tremendously.
The only thing that might actually be coinflip-y is how jobs get distributed, which primarily gets funky if WAR + DRK get put together or WHM + AST. WAR-DRK cover for each other with different strengths and WHM-AST has an absolutely stupid amount of sustain on top of still having respectable burst damage.

This entire subforum is the epitome of "mad cuz bad." These are the same people you see blaming their team in Dota 2 or hardstuck Bronze in Street Fighter. It's always everyone else's fault.

I've never been convinced that any kind of reward actually drew people to ranked, or at least not in meaningful quantities.
I put my best foot forward and get to plat easily but while i DO understand where you are coming from dude... it is a rng pisshole, you can do everything right and still lose because your team would rather spam 'Good game!' out of anger because they ran ahead and died.I see the point from the rest of the post and generally don't disagree with it, however I've seen the 50:50 coinflip term used a lot and it starts to irk me.

It is indeed an RNG pisshole because quite frankly players make it one and demands for minimal or no deranking will continue to let people reach plat+ by having their face grind on rails and be like "nailed it".I put my best foot forward and get to plat easily but while i DO understand where you are coming from dude... it is a rng pisshole, you can do everything right and still lose because your team would rather spam 'Good game!' out of anger because they ran ahead and died.
It's a compounded issue consisting of multiple factors and the only tip I can give is for every individual to work on themselves, review their mistakes or alternative options to both minimize becoming the weak link in a match and perhaps have what extra mile you can pull off be able to cover someone ending up short.
Yup, just get as good as you can so you are not part of the problem, thats what i did.It is indeed an RNG pisshole because quite frankly players make it one and demands for minimal or no deranking will continue to let people reach plat+ by having their face grind on rails and be like "nailed it".

which even then the odds will still be stacked against you, good luck!
