Really, I understand the first producer had his ambitions and desires, BUT Final Fantasy has always had Classic, distinct, Final Fantasy classes. I don't mind, too bad, renaming them but making the idea of the Armoury System apart of a Final Fantasy game is heresy to Final Fantasy name! Our weapons is not the source of our power! The classes come form our past experiences, in turn, these classes are either taught, learned or passed down through linage. Not by equipping a weapon and so be it...
Every FF had a unique progression system in some shape or form, and the armory system was supposed to encourage you to create an identity for yourself, be it a combination skills akin to those of a classical class or something else of your own choosing. Just because something is "not a real final fantasy" to you, doesn't mean that's true for everyone, since obviously the definition of what exactly constitutes a FF game is VERY flexible, considering.
