Can't play PS5 version of the game without buying another copy?

They need to change this ASAP. Extorting consumers out of another $60 to buy a full game to play the exact same game just on a different platform is scummy.

Though it'd be nice to have access to all platforms under the single cost of the game/subscription, realistically it's not going to happen unless they make it completely free (aside from subscription costs).

You're effectively paying for a license to play the game on that platform. If SE was to provide a license for every platform under the same single game payment, it'd be a hell of a lot more than $60.

Same with pretty much all cross-platform games - just because you purchase it on one platform doesn't automatically mean you can get it for free on another.

It's already been said but this is like say buying Person 5 on ps4 and expecting all the other ports like Switch version, Xbox, Steam etc of that game for free.

Some games and other software do give cross platform access with a single software license. Unfortunately, this one does not. I can see both sides of the argument honestly, like if I buy a piece of software, it shouldn't matter what hardware I choose to run that software on. On the other hand I understand capitalism and realize SE want to sell as many products as possible and as long as people keep buying multiple licenses for the same piece of software, they will keep selling them.

How is this different than any other game.
Let's take skyrim because it's everywhere.
Well you need to pay for it on every platform.

I've only heard of one publisher that does univeral licenses you buy the game and you can play it everywhere but they only do indi games

But this is a subscription game with a cash shop that is releasing less content wanting you to buy the full game again just so you can play it on another platform.
