Ok, if you're being genuine, I'll bite. For one, people who have criticisms for the game are not in the majority as yet no matter how loud we may seem. Some of us get aggressive because we have been attacked, shouted down, called fascist, called genocidal, called Trancers, just because we think the Ancients got crapped on by the dev team and Venat got elevated far more than she should have and did not get called on her crap. For two, no, I don't think they should "go away". I just want them to desist in shouting us down and actually understand our point of view and admit hey, there may be a grain of rightness in what we're saying and that we may just have a point.

I'm one of those people in that pool who have criticisms - mainly regarding balance of the game and content. And yes, we get defensive when it comes to people trying to refute the claims we make since we're trying to make a case for X or Y to be discussed at length. We can agree to disagree on some things of course, but when it comes to forum posters, I usually just reading the forums like I do the news: skimming. Every time I roll around to General Discussion, it tends to be chaotic because of either TitanMen creating mundane threads that are jagged and pointed or whatever you call them at the dev team or even just CBU3 in general; or, I can run across a good topic of discussion like this one.

In regards to OP's post though, I'd say that it's important that there is a modicum of negativity to be had in certain cases, namely with how a majority of raiders loathe how the 2 minute burst window was forced on us to name one case. Of course, you have the uproar threads like regarding Endwalker's story and ending that also have thorough discussion - with some good in-between. The other fact is it that having these types of discussions typically is good for GMs to read and allows them to even consider feedback in certain cases(even though we all know NA NEVER is taken into account regarding feedback...)

What I'd personally want is moderators to take a more active stance in our forum and clean up the place of troll alts so we can actually see what people are talking about instead of this necro'd nonsense(unless it's necro'd for good reason on extremely rare occasion).

People shouldn't be name-calling like that for a difference of opinion. That said, your last sentence seems to imply that you think it's not possible to understand your point of view and still disagree. You sound like the only way someone can show they understand your point of view is by agreeing with it. Again, attacks are uncalled for. But insisting on agreement as acknowledgment of your point of view may tell you why you're getting push back on it.

As to the OP, why should anyone care if one side or the other does want dissent to leave? That's not the point of a forum intended for open discussion.

That said, your last sentence seems to imply that you think it's not possible to understand your point of view and still disagree. You sound like the only way someone can show they understand your point of view is by agreeing with it. Again, attacks are uncalled for. But insisting on agreement as acknowledgment of your point of view may tell you why you're getting push back on it.

I think you completely miss the point of the question. It's not a question of people caring about others leaving...its the fact that it would seem counterpoints are drowning out what people feel are game issues. Some claiming theyre being silenced so I'm asking if these folks would prefer those who don't share their view to leave. And if not how do we find a compromise of fairness in how we go about our feedback. You're on a whole different thought plain

It's not a question of people caring about others leaving...its the fact that it would seem counterpoints are drowning out what people feel are game issues. Some claiming theyre being silenced so I'm asking if these folks would prefer those who don't share their view to leave. They're not being silenced, though. We hear from them all the time. Why is any sort of compromise necessary besides everyone behaving like adults and debating civilly without resorting to name-calling and agreeing to disagree if someone doesn't share their view?

I am not advoocating for them "switching sides" or any such thing. More them saying "Both sides may have some bit of rightness in this" I won't name names, but some of the quote unquote "lore hounds" on this forum can't admit they might be wrong even when they are shown canon sources that support our point and that is a problem.

What if they don't feel that? You don't want their honesty. You just want them to say what you want them to say. It is possible to view the same content and have differing viewpoints on it.

Ikara's OP seems hypocritical at it's core considering her later responses, doesn't it? I feel that I am well within being reasonable to question the intent.

I was going to point out their hypocrisy, but I went the route I did. I’m sure I’ll get told to move along again, or worse. I’m not the echo chamber they desire
