I’ve been considering this also; I think the perfect situation would be to join like a month before an expac launches to do all the post content.

That is, join when 6.5 drops to do 6.1-6.5, then be ready when 7.0 drops. When 7.0 is done, unsub until 7.5, rinse repeat.

If you are taking your time in the .x series, you will likely be able to avoid the rush of players zerging the new expac and do it leisurely.

This is a generic 'I'm quitting, here's why' thread.

The domino effect started in 4.0 with Lilies, and got worse in 5.0 with healers being gutted. I've had extremely negative opinions about the game ever since Stormblood, and the consistent removal of gameplay mechanics, alongside the dumbing down of classes, has been the slow death of my love for the game.

It's not all negative. I made a lot of friends here, met my long-term partner, and still have had a blast playing the game. I adored the story from start to finish, and I'm probably going to be back for MSQ, at least, in 7.0.

That's all. If they make healers or tanks fun again, I'll probably come right back like a coke fiend, but until such a day? I bid you all farewell.

Just to pre-empt the expected: You can have some of my stuff. One of my characters has a small house on Balmung, in Mists. It should be up for grabs in a little over a month. I entirely forget what sub-ward it is, but it's owned by the character Ophelia Dubhslainne.

XIV doesn't have can you have my stuff threads. That is for the losers on the WoW forums. You can leave your feedback and move on with your life happy in your decision.

I really hope you find greener pastures for yourself, it's always good to quit something with which you don't have really fun anymore.

And i totally understand you, when they stripped the tanks of their individual tankstances/dps stances it was also a huge blow to my personal fun with that role. Really wish they would have different concepts but i guess that is the price we pay for the balancing.

Normally at this time, I'd be back playing WoW until the next expansion comes out, but Blizzard broke the game for me.
