Roulette Issues Recently?

Time's I've attempted this:

Thursday evening, around 6p eastern
Friday evening, around 6p eastern
Saturday, around 10a and 6p eastern
Sunday, around 6p eastern
Monday, around 8a eastern

Roulettes with 4m options (Expert, Mentor, Lv50-80, Leveling, 90) pop fine.

Roulettes with more than 4m (Trials, Normal Raids, Alliance Raids) do not...at any of the above times, on Primal, or Aether, or Crystal, or Dynamis. Not as a tank, not as a healer, not as a DPS. Many of them claim "less than 5m" q, and then change after not popping (such as tank on Primal for Normal raids now, was a "less than 5m" q that's currently 16mins in...)

This game never had this problem before, why now?

Queue times usually depend on the number of players queueing for the content and the role distribution. There may be fewer players queueing for the 8/24man content than normal, making it harder for the system to fill out parties for those roulettes.

It may be coincidence but your issues with the queue times just happen to coincide with the FFXVI release. Certainly that's impacted the number of players actively playing FFXIV right now. I've been getting a lot of "oh I'm just logging in to check my island and retainers/water my garden before I go back to FFXVI" from friends and FC members.

It's also the start of summer just before a major US holiday. More than usual will be traveling on vacation right now and that will also impact the number of players logging in.

I've been queuing for Expert, Trials, and Normal Raids over the weekend, late morning Eastern time, and it went the usual really quickly for Tank & Healer, and was even only a couple minutes for DPS when it popped up as the "role in need". Only delay I've seen was queuing for one very specific Raid (P4) which I withdrew before it popped.

Simple answer, 6.4 didn't bring much long running content, those arrive with 6.45. People are not there because they have nothing to do on the game RN. The lack of proper long running content in EW might also play a role. The more people you need the longer it get. Also, significant part of the player base is probably on XVI

Mid expansion content drought. Queues have been pretty bad for those times for me as well.

Can count on getting nothing but ARR dungeons though with people being outright rude to sprout tanks or healers.
