Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm loving FFXVI and I'm happy that the game is so fun... but at the same time I can't help but feel a tinge of bitterness because this is the level of storytelling that Endwalker could've had. The potential for great writing in Endwalker was there along, but we didn't get it. CBU3 pushed the old game out of the way in favor of the new.

The people who have an issue aren't upset about the message, they're upset about who the messenger is. It doesn't matter what opinion he has, people will always find ways to get mad over what he says.

If the story is really that good, perhaps I'll be tempted to get it on PS5 sooner rather than wait for a PC port. I would rather play on a PC and I usually don't care too much about spoilers, but if the story's amazing as people are saying it is, then playing through it before I get spoiled on anything might be worth it.
