YES god i miss it lol 2 ast was pretty busted as much as a sch deployed shield good times!!!.There was also that absolutely retarded pre-pull Neutral Stance opener.
Noct Stance + Neutral Stance -> Aspected Helios Shield + Neutral Helios Regen, Celestial Opposition then:
Diurn Stance + Neutral Stance -> Aspected Helios Regen + Neutral Helios Shield
That alone just invalidated a ton of opening raidwide attacks. With Scholar just throwing in Sacred Soil + Whispering Dawn and AST throwing Earthly Star anyways, you literally needed basically nothing else even on fights like E8S's first Diamond Frost/Dust.
Neutral Sect does compound with the shields of sch and sge but I think of it like niche like how warrior, paladin, etc compound because ast neutal sect shielding capabilities isn't as powerful and the shield timing might make applying one or two shields feasible but as you are on a timer rather than continuous it faces problems there. (It is also on a long cooldown for good reasons)Dunno I find it weird how AST gets to have Neutral Sect to generate solid shields themselves that can be paired with Galvanize and Eukrasian shields and also problem free overlap in the Regen department with Collective and Celestial Opp., over what SCH and SGE have, but SCH SGE is not allowed to overlap shields...
SCH SGE is fine to play but it is just such jank that they insist on the shield limitation, like what exactly will it break that we can't break with AST SCH or AST SGE?
Even sge has a shields(s) that can stack with sch: holos shield (a shield that generates in addition to regen) and panhaima, haima (unless you choose to ignore those skills then everything is off the table).
Ast used to be able to replace sch shields though with nocturnal sect but that was the past...the identity of ast then was a flex healer either doing shields or providing big heals in whichever stance you were in.
