    THM and BLM difference

Excluding gear and skills, what's the difference between them in terms of raw stats and caps?
    Just 10 piety?

Also with vanya set + astrolabe and good materia, can a THM deal more damage against bosses then a blm?
And can it be useful in dungeons even without sleepga?

It's all situational. Sometimes Thm can be better at damaging than Blm, sometimes blm is better at damaging than thm.

BLM will most likely always be able to deal more dmg then THM. With access to Freeze and convert. BLM can easily nuke harder and longer then a thm. Also Vanya set doesn't give you any real stat change to even think about losing freeze/convert.

THM does get more HP (I think I notice about 200+ HP when going from BLM to THM).
THM also gets a lot more 'sustainability' skills to keep them going. And even some additional magicks.

However, they then loose their BLM specific skills. Most notably:
Sleepga (super great for crowd control).
Convert/Freeze (if they are in an all-out-non-stop-moogle-nuke-party).

If you do not need crowd control, and you are not in a situation where you need or can nuke non-stop till MP is depleted, then you may have hit a situation where BL Mis non-beneficial.

THM is more versatile when it comes to survival. this is the purpose of class and job difference in regards to party play and solo.

can still be useful in party with cure, stoneskin and raise.
has still chameloen to pull off hate.

convert is not an issue if you have potions.

so far only negative traits are no flare, no sleepga (shouldn't be an issue, since there should be other black mages in party and has still sleep and more piety and macc with vanya+materia set) and no burst, replaced by cure, stoneskin (to buff dps group while whm heals tank, or to help healing the tank), raise, rampart, sentinel, aero, stone.

astrolabe and vanya set so far are the most powerful gear for mage (excluding relic for blm).

Blm has chameleon also plus Freeze which means they can keep their overall hate lower than thaum over time when fighting a single target. So, assuming an equal tank, a Blm can theoretically do more damage than a thaum before pulling hate. This is without factoring in gear differences.

Thaum is definitely more survivable than Blm and more versatile but if you are just comparing damage output Blm wins IMO.

Unless you need sleepga or fighting a pure zerg fights or aiming for certain time limit, no real reason to use BLM these days.

I think it's pretty simple. Which do you prefer? For me, it's the latter.

It depends on the fight, really. BLM has more use in situations where you are dealing with multiple enemies which is why it shines in dungeons, whereas THM feels nicer in stuff like primal battles.
