    They could literally just give us Heavensward or Stormblood DRK back to the letter and I would be the happiest DRK main alive

    A mix between both would be better.

    HW DRK came with a superior Blood Price and a secondary damage combo that got used when not using Dark Arts. It also had DoT management in Scourge.

    The downside is what I consider the Parry engine hard enforcing DRK to MT and being unreliable in fights with no physical attacks. Thats what TBN sort of fixed as a defensive with a retaliation effect.

    SB DRK gave us the Blood system which played hand in hand with MP management (TBN, Delirium, Blood weapon/price generating both), apparently a superior Blood Weapon (if I read the version history right, it only gave 10% attack speed which I think is autoattacks...?), extension of Bloodweapon/Price every 2nd use and a few Dark Arts effect changes. MP management was also less in hands of serverticks if it drained MP and more your own job.

    The downside here was crippling Blood Price and a few nasty additions such as DA Syphon Strike. The frequency of DA was only as much of an issue as the MP cost of it. Had there been an equal increase in potency and MP cost, it would keep damage the same and lowetlr DA frequency. The problem here is that Bloodspiller potency would need to get buffed if TBN cost rose equally or MP management would be a bit funkier by remembering multiple MP thresholds.

    I'd like multiple charges to Abyssal Drain and a separate CD from C&S. I don't care about potency, just keep the heal. I miss it from HW days.

    C&S should grant a long duration hot. That way odds are when you take damage its still ticking.

    I'd like our old mutual friend, Fray, to be active all the time. Give him more moves even for flair only. Living Shadow should power him up to do what he does atm. People keep asking for a Beastmaster tank but a tank with pets only takes away more identity from drk than we have already lost.

    Salted Earth should apply a dot debuff on targets that get inside rather than directly. Fart Bubbles should apply damage to everything with the dot.

    Better animations and cooler effects. DRK is the only job that looks less cool after each expansion. Replace unpopular ones with old favorites and retouch them but its no excuse to be lazy and not come up with something new and good.

    I'd like a third aoe combo finisher and a fourth single target finish. To line up better, make it available with Delirium or Living Shadow. They can share CD idc.

    There's more stuff but its for all tanks like fix/remove tenacity, make busters only do one type of damage, gap closers should only do token dmg but also give as much as threat like unmend/lob/toma. Give role actions job identity and visuals (shadow skin please).

    They should just make it a GCD again. 3000 mp cost, only use it when you need to heal.

    They more they do with DRK, the more I don't understand what DRK is supposed to be. Mitigation tank? DPS tank? like wtf is going on anymore lol

    The ideal would be pretty much what Reinhardt mentioned. A mix between Heavensward and Stormblood Dark Knight with modern QoL so that our dps isn't lower when not main tanking.

    Secondary damage combo, Scourge from Heavensward

    Stormblood DRK for the MP management, just tone down the Dark Arts usage.

    I do miss hoarding all my MP for those abyssal drain spam trash pulls but with the way TBN, Edge and Flood are right now that's not going to happen.

    True. I really wonder what the design process is for jobs like DRK, SCH, etc. Are they just trying to make them functional?
