"Confirm" key defaults to "Yes" for duties; why not outside?

Man, I love the fact that this game's built with controllers in mind sometimes. Even though i don't play with one, I reap the benefit when it comes to menu and window pop-up navigation, from quest turn-ins to the fact that I can mash confirm for prompts in duties.

By default, it's set to numpad0 on a keyboard, but I added a rebinding on 'v'.

I've played the game for years, and so many things are adjustable in the UI from setting a forced warning if you're about to buy gear for a different job than you currently are to readjusting the order of the selections from drop-down menus, but for some reason out of a duty the confirmation always defaults to "no", while it defaults to "yes" in a duty.

Can this be made into an option? I'd prefer if things defaulted to yes so I don't have to carefully consider whether or not I want to enter my house or my Grand Company Barracks or whatever cave the MSQ sends me to after teleporting and walking halfway across Eorzea to get there.

A lot of things that have confirmation dialogs shouldn't even need confirmation at all. Anything in a dungeon should just be an automatic transport as soon as you step into the transport area. They have been much better about this in some of the more recent EW dungeons but there are still a lot of mid-dungeon transporters that should be converted to not require a click.

Transporters outside of dungeons need confirmations because they might cause you to instantiate an area and/or load a new map, but if they just added a door symbol or map pin symbol to the name of anything that can transport you somewhere, those wouldn't need confirmation either.

But did you never change your mind mid dungeon and instead of opening a door with a key, turned around and went back home?

It sounds like you're trying to make a joke, but to clarify, I'm talking about all the times where advancing doesn't cost you anything. If a key is involved and there are multiple choices for doors on which to use that key, yes, ask for confirmation. But if it's just "proceed to the next area?" there should not be a confirmation, and in most cases we shouldn't even be required to click on the thing. Just give a magic circle or a zone line to step over.

Now that I think about it, isn't that actually how the Patch 6.4 MSQ dungeon works?

Yes i was sarcastic, there shouldn't be a "Do you want to use this key?" pop up in dungeons, that only makes sense if there were consequences in doing so.
