It's open enough to find info. I miss ShitpostXIV tho![]()

They wanted it last time they were polled, and the plan from the start was to reassess it later, which they have now done.
The general drift from the comments didn't seem to simply be "we don't want to protest" but "enough other subreddits have ended their protests that continuing ours won't help".

I saw their original poll. A whole 800 comments (assuming there aren't repeats) out of 800K users...They wanted it last time they were polled, and the plan from the start was to reassess it later, which they have now done.
The general drift from the comments didn't seem to simply be "we don't want to protest" but "enough other subreddits have ended their protests that continuing ours won't help".
They also don't seem to have a poll at all, they are just counting comments.

Only 800 comments (960 now) but 11000 up votes. If people disagreed I don't think that would be the case.
phew, I was wondering when I was going to be able to see commissioned art, low quality memes, and *checks notes* pictures of painted nails...
Na, the people have spoken, I'm okay with it. Enjoy your stuff that I don't enjoy, that's okay.

Best way to show reddit is to find other reddit comparable and do your best to support them, ideally you upgrade in terms of mechanics.. though you will most certainly downgrade in terms of community scale and likely quality of posting for quite some time. Turning off the reddit is fine and all for a little while but it's what their third time doing this? It's easy for CEOs to fall on their sword when they can fail upwards (in the eyes of the consumer).
Of course many people don't care / wont, just like "fight the game companies with their cash shop / pre-order full price early access quality games". But if it's meaningful, finding those new communities and actively contributing could at some point do a 'thing'. Like the exodus of WoW, whether temporary or not, is an example of a problem and then a potential solution readily being available at the same time. If the potential solutions don't get cultivated then when the problem comes along everyone is just going to hunker down harder rather than have an opportunity to branch out.

I mean you're not missing much from the subreddit, just a bunch of modded pics and fan art. You can get the same experience by just googling FF14 fanart.

TLDR: People being people are not so used to inconvenience any longer..,
Too long in "Paradise".
So the foundations of its tolerability is gone with the changes.
Easily Reduced to Self Vs Self the majority are, blinded by the one guys words of Landed Gentry.
At the very least the one true lesson learned, is that information shouldn't be held only on reddit.
So any opportunistic Website Managers should get working on it.
As useful as Discords or Reddit Can be, it's ridiculous to be beholden to them, when they decide to Actually Hold Info and knowledge to themselves.
Unlike a Rich One Man's bait of Landed Gentry.
