I'm a couple days late as usual, because on the weekends I can play the game instead of the forums. Anyway, I completely agree! Also was a 16 year WoW survivor and 2 days away from my 2 year anniversary in this game (technically had an account far longer)
Indeed OP you are far from alone. Lots of people still love and cherish this game.
No one outside you guys' circle knows what you are talking about. No one wants to know what you are talking about. And you are definitively off topic. This is not the "personal beef and snipe at each other with random !@%#" thread. Please take it somewhere else and stay on topic here.

Story is mostly a question of what one likes in a story. Some people enjoy (silly) Mary-Sue-style overpowered main characters easily defeating enemies, some enjoy dramas with a lot of the cast being personally involved, others like stories that parallel real scenarios... etc. Shadowbringers and Endwalker are clearly the brain child of someone else than what was the MSQ before. With all consequences. Endwalker was sold as finishing all that came before. It was very much in style of the new writer with no regards to what came before ShB. They seem to hate everything before. There are also objective qualities that are weak in the story. Some have been there since the beginning. For example in a lot of sidequests characters you don't know will tell you directly how they feel. No subtext. Just directly telling you. Stories for little children are often written that way.
And i can probably create a much worse and more boring game than FFXIV. WoW being "bad" (or not) does not elevate FFXIV. These two games are not all games that exist.
If there is so much to do why are you in danger of burnout? Because a lot is grindy and boring.I am trying to max all my jobs to 90, i'm so close! But doing all the roulettes every day, from beast tribe dailies, to the stadium crafting questlines, the fate farming, housing / decor, from the raiding content there is just so much to do. I can game for like 10 hours a day and barely have enough time to do everything i want in the first half of every week. Let alone even play other games to mitigate burn out. I still have achievements to hunt, mounts / collectibles to collect, relics i haven't even started. Sometimes I just feel like i'm drowning in content and it is glorious!
I started leveling desynthesis and it's way too slow...So anyways the only way I can think people aren't having fun or think there is nothing to do is because they have limited themselves in what they do inside the game. Maybe they are exclusively raiders and ignore the 80% of the other stuff in the game. But as someone who wants to do everything even the pvp I honestly think it will be impossible to collect al the collectibles, the achievements, and achieve everything the game has to offer.
Is that about the "mad" people that aren't EW sheeps or about the WoW-Quitter-To-FFXIV-fans?
Will put you on ignore if you can't form a logical argument but argue nonetheless
"i skipped the first 10 yrs of the game and i have TONS to do!!!"I see a lot of negativity on this forum for some reason. I do not understand it outside that "people come to the forums to vent and complain". I don't see how people think Endwalker is bad, let alone the story or gameplay. I don't understand how the class mechanics are "2 min meta" / "bland, boring, and the same". As someone who came from WoW for 16 years, this game is superior in pretty much every way.

What’s toxic about their positivity? What’s wrong with occasionally coming to these forums and balance out the negativity of majority of the threads here? No matter who I speak with in the game, no one has felt content draught and is absolutely happy with the state of the game and EW story. It really seems that people dissatisfied with the game are solely on this forum. So I don’t see any harm in sharing a counter opinion, as a forum is not meant to be only for those bashing the game, but everyone.
What about you learn to accept that probably a majority of people playing this game genuinely love it. The echo chamber of crying and negativity that these forums have become is not reflective of the opinions of countless of others.

OP already admitted it wasnt 100% genuine so this is already discussed and closedWhat’s toxic about their positivity? also lol @"muh majority" I also love the game for a few reasons, housing, hanging out with friends, venues, gposes and glamours.
Complaining about the game or suggesting improvements =/ not liking the game

Nothing inherently. But for some reason, anyone who makes a positive thread seems to have this compulsion to make it either for the purpose of damage control (aka suppressing negative feedback so it doesn't get addressed) or to own the 'haters'. That's why this thread is an example of toxic positivity. (OP literally admitted to this thread being damage control so it's not even speculation to say that it is)
Argumentum ad populum. Look it up.
