PSA: Do not undercut people by 50k gil or more

I just talked to a GM after I reported a retainer on the market board that undercut me by 50k gil on Kupo Coffer. Undercutting is not only rude but when you undercut by so much you crash the market, and everyone makes 50k gil less thanks to your impatience. Now thanks to that person Kupo Coffer is only 40k. Hopefully that person gets banned. You do NOT troll on the market board unless you want to get reported by everyone else. Learn to match other people's price and wait patiently.

Ah yes, if no one is buying the thing for 200k but only costs like 20k to make or farm, it's totally worth reporting the person for selling it at 150k or less instead. /s

Welcome to the free market, if you can still make a tidy profit by undercutting severely, then the item probably deserved to be undercut. If it no longer becomes profitable (or the profit margin not worth the time), people eventually stop making/farming it. If it turns out that unprofitable item is in high demand, then it eventually goes back up in price to become profitable very quickly.

If what you're saying is true and you really do believe an item is worth 90k, then keep selling it at that price. Eventually either the supply dwindles enough and the demand is still high that people are willing to pay 90k, or it was never worth that and the guy setting it at 40k had it right all along. If you're feeling really ballsy and confident of your price, just buy it off him and put it back up for 90k.

I really hope you didn't report for this, it seems really petty and I don't think there's anything in the ToS about undercutting, you'd just be wasting GM time.

I tried selling the new fishy glioaether but you can’t even give it away. It doesn’t have any inherent value beyond what people will pay. Same as the rest of the market. Supply is fairly unlimited for so many items.

I can undercut people by whatever amount I want and it’s not against the ToS. I regularly undercut by far more than 50k lol. I chose the selling price of my items and you don’t get to decide that for me.

If you are botting and it messes your plans, then all the better.

If someone is not happy, they can just buy my items and try to resell them at outrageous prices.
