Why do I have no drive?

Please Forgive me In Advanced guys. I hate complaining like this. I'm just irritated.
I've been playing since day 1 and the only improvements are really the Speed of the Interactions of NPC's and the menu, with your character.

I just have no interest to keep gathering crap that gets replaced in a month.

    This game is so sketchy.

Every other MMO I had no problem with, but Final Fantasy x|v...just isn't doing it for me.

So many contradictions from devs, Yoshi, and what actually gets put in the game.

Square Enix just can't make up their Mind.

We want it to be casual, we want player base to play it all day long, but yet we add stuff they has requirements for every event.

The player base is so small once you pass the majority of everyone already completing it.
    You're screwed.

Something it missing from FFx|v I just don't know what it is. Community is garbage. ( I have a good LS don't get me wrong) In general...It feels like I'm in World of Warcraft Trade chat all day long.

    1. Requirements for events doesn't make something non casual..god forbid you have to do some work to get what you want <___<

    2. The game is sketchy because it's being overhauled for relaunch, but you also have the community to blame. It's hard to get drive when the general community is just so..stupid about certain things (you can only do ifrit with 1WAR, 2 WHM and 5 THM/BLMs!)

    3. The only thing they ever contradicted themselves on was the AF gear, which they said would be at least on par with double meld gear, which some pieces are pretty strong in certain regards, it's no where near even a single meld set of gear.

    4. Indeed, and with SE's infinite focus on the end-game people, it's not that welcoming to new players sadly, which luckily they said should change come 2.0 if they want this MMO to even be as remotely successful as it's predecessor.

Honestly, it's 1 part SE and 1 part the community that makes this game really sketchy, it's hard to have fun when you're not allowed to have fun, so what if you can level all classes and jobs, there's people out there who enjoys and want to play only a singular class/job and should be allowed to actually do party content since time and time again people have proven you don't need to stack BLM or Barchers for everything, but the general community just doesn't understand that. In FFXI you could bring someone along that only had 1 job and still succeed in content, here people are too afraid to not get an auto-win, which usually means keeping MNK and DRGs out of the mix.

A good LS does change your outlook, but the game also has to be able to stand on a general social level, rather than purely tight knit...you usually get that tightknit part after forming general bonds..which this game makes it near impossible to do.

    On easy contents? yes.

But, class stackings is always there for hard content, BLM stacking, SMN stacking, Salvage cookie cutter setup etc, class mix was only forced during weakness proc era.

Here's a tip. Help people. Anyone, from the poor newblets who don't know what leves are to that lonely WHM needing a pt for their af. Help and be helped. It forms bonds too. There is a reason there is a friends list....

For number 4 though there is a reason why the game is solely focused on endgame people atm. Why create content for new players when the whole focus of this shift from 1.0-2.0 is suppose to give players that stuck around something to do before the release of 2.0. It would just make no sense to have lower level content in a community in which a majority if not all of the current players are of lv 50 and want high end difficult content to overcome.

This MMO isn't your typical MMO atm because it's playing through the scenario of high end content, it just isn't logical to introduce lower level content until 2.0 because to add it now would be a waste of resources which should be spent catering to the high end game play.

It will definitely change in 2.0 though, there will be more content which can be enjoyed at lower as well as mid and high level. It's just right now the MMO is playing through a storyline which requires it to only cater to the high end playerbase, which is also why they have made leveling up easier. So that people who enter now will be able to reach 50 on at least one class and be able to take part in the 7th umbral without having to go through the difficult grind of reaching 50 on one class just to enjoy what the 7th umbral has to offer.

A quote I remember from XI was "there's no problem that can't be solved by throwing a pt of BLMs at it". Although I think with the lvling time in XI it was just more understandable to not have BLM. Whereas in this game it's more like "oh you don't have BLM? You must be new. Lvl it tomorrow we'll do Ifrit the day after"

Yeh FFXI was known to be very cookie cutter. My main was DNC and I was forced to play WHM instead for 99% of things..it was silly.

I think the issue a lot of people have atm are they want to be able to log in and do stuff with pick up groups. I remember in XI nearly everything could be done with pick up groups...the only reason why people made statics was to have a set time that worked for everyone and to work out drops. But the content on the other hand could always be done with pickups..that is what made XI so great and easy to meet new people/make friends.

In XIV I am finding if stuff is not done with the same group of people it is constant failure and wiping due to these things being so unforgiving. Everyone I know has been saying "Yeah I am never doing stuff with PUG again, its just wipe after wipe"

So while people certainly do not mind doing some work to get their stuff..like level up a job, gear it up, learn to play it, etc...when it gets to the point where you can't log in, invite random people and do a fun yet challenging event the drive to continue playing diminishes. This is exactly how I feel. I would LOVE to play the stuff this game has to offer but after countless PUG wipes I give up and just craft until 2.0

That is probably because FFXI is a very easy game content-wise lol, however they also have tough content or at least requires much more strategy like Salvage, in that case you don't see alot of pick up for Salvage do you?

Not from the NA side at least, much like in XIV you see a lot more JP PUGs for stuff than you do NA.
