another random DC complaint thread

but do not acknowledge or attempt to fix the random dc's that people around the world constantly get. Some days I'll dc a few times every hour, for the entire day, no matter what I'm doing. Some days I won't dc a single time in 10 hours of straight game play, no matter what I'm doing. Sometimes I can't even sit in one place doing nothing but waiting for time to pass while people gather for a party, and I dc every 5 seconds. So what gives? I know the current server system blows, I know a lot of stuff is going to be fixed for 2.0, but this is one problem that persists though, and needs to be fixed sooner.

Rarely does the game crash to windows for the known directx issue. It's usually a "There was a problem with the game server" (enter a billion random numbers here) and it boots me to the char select screen.

Psh, only one Chiver here besides me now. But yes, some things really do need to wait til 2.0 It's not some patch or expansion, it's re-written from the ground up basically.

the only time i crash the way you describe it is if i Zone crashes @ random or during any number of mundane cut scenes again its @ random....the cutscenes are my biggist issue, its gotten so bad i usually take the stair's instead of the well lift.

I haven't had a single disconnect issue. No memory leaks, or any issues really with stability for ffxiv. And it's not just me and my awesome super-computer, either. My kids with mid level gaming machines haven't had any issues, nor the gf with her crappy hp laptop that barely runs the game on low settings.

So perhaps the select few that are having issues are doing something wrong. Just a crazy and wild thought. But you could also keep yelling at SE to fix it, even though it may not actually be their fault. You could post your problem, your configuration, anything that seems to trigger it, your installed software with versions, and how many viruses you have due to programs that people like to use like bearshare and limewire. If you're having crashes, try a clean wipe, install only minimal software, play for a week, and see what happens.
