As well as I am on Long Island. I’ve seen people saying that running a VPN connecting outside of the entire North Eastern region it seems to work. Most people are having issues connecting to any route in the North Eastern location. Exception to this is my friend in SC had the same issues and she does not live in NY or have Optimum (obviously if she’s in South Carolina lmao) but it’s more common for optimum users/Long Islanders/Tri state region that uses optimum (with some odd balls here and there not using Optimum)

Ok so just to try, i paid for a vpn for 1 month. With a vpn i connect with 0 issues and was able to go through a duty without problems. So what does it mean when a vpn works but you cant connect without it? What would be the issue there? I am in central NJ and moved my location to NY on the vpn. It also worked for me yesterday while i was at work in NYC without a vpn.

That's actually pretty interesting to me. So in NJ you're having an issue connecting but when you go to NYC there's no problem. When I ran tracert, the trace stops dead once it hits the node geolocated in NYC. Are you able to run a tracert both with your VPN running and without? I'd like to see the differences in the routing

But basically, open a command prompt on your pc, then use the command 'tracert 204.2.29.122. Copy and paste the results here, and be sure to omit the first three hops for privacy

New info

After getting some more details from friends of mine who happened to stumble across this thread, I saw that the next hop after the node located in NYC is a node located in Hoboken, NJ. The node designation is ae-17.a02.nycmny17.us.bb.gin.ntt.net [129.250.8.229]. Here is the WHOIS information for the node. Yep, another NTT node. I tried pinging and running a tracert to this node in particular and both failed spectacularly.

It's my belief that this is where the failure is occurring for East Coast players. NTT is a network company contracted by SE for pathing to their datacenters, and this is where the failure appears to consistently occur. As such, SE is responsible for working with the vendor in getting this node back up and running. As a playerbase we should not have to rely on a VPN to connect to a service when SE is responsible for the networking in the first place

Hello!! I've been playing for years but this is my first post here.

I wanted to add that I too am getting bounced from the title screen with 90002 or 2002 errors, and sometimes being bounced after selecting my main on Chrystal/Coeural then I make it to the loading screen, then I receive a 10105 error. I have been having these issues since about 4 am on the 14th. I'm on the east coast and I have Optimum internet. When I logged into the European data center, I was able to create a new character and then log in and play.
