is like this
One part I don't get is you saying seasonal items aren't free. How aren't they exactly? They don't cost money. And you sub pay for you to have access to the servers. The rest is just there for you to choose to obtain or not. But let's just say we ARE paying for everything we get in ffxiv with our subs, what difference does it make it were paying for it in game than if we buy off MS? By your logic we're still buying it one way or another. That's were that logic takes a dip south.
If you dont pay the sub you cannot play the game..if you cannot play the game you cannot earn those items
you dont pay to have access to servers only , you pay to play the game and its entirety.
is like a single player, you pay for the actual game
So by your logic folks mad at the mogstation are mad for no reason. If everything is paid for the only difference is where it's sold. The mount wouldn't be free if it was simply in game because it'd still cost money (and time which the mogstation avoids on the later)

Consider me surprised.
I'd have genuinely thought this to be a BLU reward for doing savage raids with said job - Not a Mogstation item. - It would be more appropriate for it to be tied to BLU, IMO.
But, I guess I know what I'm buying later.
I'm surprised so many people are taking this literally... It's a comedic skit on another post someone else made when they put the Megaloambystoma behind savage.I am beyond livid that the Shadowkeeper mount is locked behind Mog Station. After I submitted ⌨️ a report in-game ️ the GMs told me to post on the Official Forums instead. Here's the thing ✅, Square Enix. Forward ⤴️ this thread to the developer who approved this and let them read this ⬇️ word by word.
You do not ❗ put cool mounts behind Mog Station , ever ⛔. Mog Station is for wealthy *♂️ casuals who play this game for ERP ⏰. Give them a crappy Cat mount or something but cool mounts do NOT belong to casuals. You're insulting all your customers by locking one of the most popular mounts this patch ️ behind a pay wall no one can afford. I feel cheated out of my $15 .
Next time ⏭️, cool mounts need to be available ✅ in content that raiders do.
To me, the mentality behind which mount goes to the mog station, which mount goes into the game should be something like this : if it's from another FF (like Cloud's bike, The 8 seater whale, or even the ark inspired mount), they go to the mogstation. If it's something from FFXIV (boss inspired or something like that - like this one), you get it in the game.
Isn't this thing based off Griever from FF8?
Ironically, people will still buy it. 14 has a massive shill culture. Every time something new comes out, it's all I see for like a week, and then it's deader than disco. The only thing that was new that I never saw was the umbrella. But every other mount becomes the mount. And this one looks cool. So people will buy it. Even though it should've been a raid reward or something. But SE likes money.
Players who are willing to spend who knows how much on this game have enabled Square and it's only going to get worse for those of us who refuse to do the same. Their money speaks louder than any of our opinions.
It's optional, you don't have to buy it if you don't want to.
It leaves a bad taste in people's mouths and people worry about things escalating.
For one, it's likely that the mount itself used a lot of assets from the actual boss model. They're essentially putting something people have already paid for that's had some slight changes up for sale.
And secondly if you look at the mog store, up until maybe the last couple of years nothing on it has been really involved in the games lore. It's been cosmetics, stuff from other games, old event items. I don't really think it was until they started selling character outfits that they started using in-game content in the store. People are obviously wary of that because they feel it will eventually move from the outfits, to the mounts to just about anything.
And sure, you don't have to have it, but isn't everything in the game optional? That's not really a sound argument.
Just putting it out there that this has been going on since the Mogstation first opened with the Sleipnir mount in terms of taking from lore/in game assets. It was literally one of the first things up and has been $24 the entire time. The only thing that's changed over the years is the prices rising imo.And secondly if you look at the mog store, up until maybe the last couple of years nothing on it has been really involved in the games lore.
