It's not really a reward for not dying, its a reward for being on a team with coordinated AOE. Can be on a crap team and not mindlessly die and still never get BH V. (Assuming that you play equally as well in both scenarios.)
Honestly what they need to do with Battle high is #1 remove it. If they won't remove it, #2, reduce the health pools of people who have BH, in exchange for higher potency. Maintaining the battle high should be a true test of your skills, and BH V's will become glass cannons. That would be marginally better to me at least.
Reducing the damage reduction for BH players sounds reasonable, as well as increasing the amount of tactical points scored when downing them (which is the better of the two in order to generate a loser's advantage and catchup mechanics, because the ones we have right now are definitely not doing their job well at all).

Nerfing the innate DR as your BH progresses will just make ranged jobs even more useless than they are now. Either increase the points you get per kill (+1 per BH level) or just halve the damage/healing buff. Or just leave BH as it is now, because it's fine.
More importantly, it has win achievements with mounts tied to them. If they were based on games played or didn't have mount rewards, it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but this is a mode where you consistently get matched with people not trying to win.It's not so much about taking it seriously as it is about it being fun and enjoyable. Getting steamrolled with no hope of recovery is the exact opposite of fun.
This notion that Front Lines shouldn't be taken seriously always seemed weird to me too. If it's not supposed to be serious, then why are there leaderboards for wins and why does the game track your wins and losses?
IMO, it should work like Feast's carrying medal penalty. The more BH you get, less DR as the penalty![]()
Add a roulette for rival wings, voila the queues are fixedThere isn't a single major issue that makes frontlines worse. Its a cocktail of everything making it a lot worse than it needs to be.
Also rival wings exists with less players, theres just no reason for most people to play it right now. They could easily put more resources into that instead of reworking front lines again.![]()
Yes, great idea, even less incentive to actually PvP. Never heard of a better complaint. SE, make it happen.
This idea is even better, no incentive to PvP + if you're actually PvPing, punish them.
I get BH V regularly despite being on both good and bad teams. Clearly you and others need to learn when to disengage.
