BH is fun, feels like a reward for not mindlessly dying

It's not really a reward for not dying, its a reward for being on a team with coordinated AOE. Can be on a crap team and not mindlessly die and still never get BH V. (Assuming that you play equally as well in both scenarios.)
Honestly what they need to do with Battle high is #1 remove it. If they won't remove it, #2, reduce the health pools of people who have BH, in exchange for higher potency. Maintaining the battle high should be a true test of your skills, and BH V's will become glass cannons. That would be marginally better to me at least.
I get BH V regularly despite being on both good and bad teams. Clearly you and others need to learn when to disengage.

Depends on the job tbh.
I went in on brainless dragoon job earlier this week, first LB I got I used it, instant lb4, from there on you become a rediculously overpowered wreckingball that dominates and can barely be killed because 24k shield after lbing balanced yo.
Scholar is pretty braindead too, just spread herpes around and you rack up 50 assists in no time for a bh5.
And ofc the easiest of easies, dark knight, no explanation needed.
And it's super easy to retain your bh on those kind of jobs aswell to keep being a powerhouse.
Now go and play war, if the enemy has a white mage, good luck getting much bh and retaining it when they can miracle you into death at any time with 0 counterplay.
Monk can be pretty meh too if you have a non aggressive raid, you can lb someone here and there maybe, but you aint doing much otherwise.
Some jobs go out of control really fast really hard and they are the ones that abuse BH stacks the most, while others need more time to get to that point and even then jobs like monk or machinist are only really good at bursting one person very fast, not giant raidwiping aoe's.
It's a heavily flawed system that is too easily abused by certain jobs and needs to be removed or reduce dr by 20% per stack, that way if you get a quick bh4 or 5 as drg, you can at least be blown up fast aswell if you just leeroy without thinking.
Nothing wrong here, but good players still regularly gets bh5 even in less favorable jobs. I usually get bh5 with monk. Ofc, it's easier if your team are willing to fight.
Sure, it's flawed, but I don't think punishing players who are willing and good enough to get bh5 is a good idea. I'm all open for changes and adjustments, tho. The new pvp system is clearly not meant for FL or RW.

Oh boy here we go with the "skill issue." Sorry but I've got over 1k frontline matches played, I think I know what I'm saying, and I know when to retreat.
If you're playing Ninja or Samurai you can easily get BH V. That isn't true for the majority of other jobs. Go play DRK or WAR and tell me how many kills/assists you get with a scattered trash team. The answer? Very few. Another reason BH needs to get thrown in the trash for blatantly favoring classes with instant kill LB's.
Nah, you don't need to be on a team with coordinated AoE to get BH. You just need to have some level of coordination in general on your alliance (aka teamwork in a team-based game). Failing to get any coordination at all just means your team sucks and you can't do anything about that regardless whether you have BH or not. BH only makes unsalvageable teams easier to win by giving reward and opportunity to those who can grasp them better compared to other teams. I've played matches where I have 1-2 players with BH in a party and still keep up BH throughout the match while the other party members somehow just never get past BH I/II before losing it all and staying at BH 0 the entire match, but we can still win matches as long as people with BH can focus on the bigger threats on the opposing alliances. At least with some individuals with BH it becomes easier to make strategic plays or spearhead big threats. With no BH at all, you can't salvage the situation majority of the time because the same people who have 0 BH are usually the same people who get pinched, caught out, overstay, don't recuperate well, and die without looking at call-outs.It's not really a reward for not dying, its a reward for being on a team with coordinated AOE. In a situation where you have people stuck at BH 0 the entire game, you're not going to be able to rely on said players to make amazing plays at all or to save the game even if everyone is on an even field. In fact, it just makes the impact of having more bad allies even worse. All you have is just an even worse situation against opposing alliances that can coordinate better than your alliance can. With BH, at least someone can be worth more than just 1 player to turn the tide in a fight by dramatically weakening the impact of a good player. With no BH, you're essentially forced into a 16 vs 20 fight permanently.

This is all nice in theory, so long as you ignore that opposing teams also accrue battle high, and will have accrued much more if they're a coordinated team or otherwise got lucky early in the match. Which actually makes it harder for those handful of good BH5 players on an uncoordinated team to make a meaningful play. Those few good players on the disadvantaged team being more powerful means nothing when half or more of the coordinated team is BH4/5. If anything, it just paints a giant target on that player's back to tell the advantaged team to focus them down.In a situation where you have people stuck at BH 0 the entire game, you're not going to be able to rely on said players to make amazing plays at all or to save the game even if everyone is on an even field.
