Features & Zones that could use a update sometime in the future.

Features:

New Grand Companies, I get this could be tricky considering how much of it is tied with PVP.

I think the best way around this is the PVP mode (like Frontlines) accounts for which has the most members of a Grand Company that is participating, and so that Company wins the ticket to be represented in that pvp mode and that way PVP always retains a 3-way battle system.

Maybe with new grand companies could come new types of PVP like 4 or 5-way battles.

I think Ala Mhigo would be perfect to have a 4th Grand Company (though maybe there is lore reasons why that can't happen)? Or Maybe GCs must be always be accessible to new players which means having a new GC wouldn't happen? Idk.

I like to think Grand Companies are still somewhat relevant in current content though it has weakened over the years.

Feature 2:

I noticed most of us players use a lot of dance emotes for a huge variety of RP stuff, I think it would be cool if maybe we get some more dance emotes at some point both for Mogstation and in-game rewards, but have dances not be too silly? Lot of RP scenes I've seen like to stick with Bee's Knees since it doesn't look nutty like some other dances (its the most used Dance Emote I've seen be used aside from Gold Dance).

Zones:

I think Gold Saucer is heavily due for some new fun stuff to do (well for years actually), like entirely new floor to explore with new mini-games and other things and maybe some throwbacks from the original Gold Saucer from FF7. Would love Ghost Square from FF7 to be a actual thing, and maybe import some things FF7 Gold Saucer had into FF14.

Personally I would love to see the Developers make the outside of the Gold Saucer be available to visit, we never truly get to visit it upclose aside from Southern Thanalan from a certain distance away

Gold Saucer needs a lot of love, and players still regularly visit the Gold Saucer everyday, so I think its worth a update and resources to consider one day.

I feel like there could be other zones that might need a touchup, but nothing is coming to mind right now.

They could easily justify (since they LOVE to justify every bit of gameplay feature with some lore behind) new large scale pvp modes with a GC update. Would love to see new GC sets, but also an update to the old Elite ones, making them dyeable and with a high res texture like some of the old sets we got through pvp.

Honestly, one thing I'd like from old zones is just merging the capital cities' instances into one. They were divided before because of the PS3, but it's no longer an issue.

The Grand Company in Ishgard basically already exists: The Temple Knights. With uniforms, headquarter and Aymeric as their leader. Let me join please!

I started to like the split zones. I can enjoy Limsa on the Upper Decks without having to deal with the people from the Lower Decks...

On Gold Saucer:

I would like to see more interactsble/rideable things that can be done with other peeps.

Something Like the flyer minigame. Make it a coaster, make it so we shoot targets with friends that cause the stage to react (launching fireworks, jump scare pop outs from behind a thing). Think pirates of the Caribbean, but hitting targets makes the things move/do something.

Give some class-free mini games. Like, imagine playing tag. Or a form of soccer. Guildwars 2 has a lot of examples of crazy mini games.

General Features:
I would like to see actual event spaces with semi-irregular, cyclical events.

I do not mean seasonal events…I mean, for example, this week there is a fishing contest where you need to collect fish a, b or c. Top 10 of each win a prize, top 1 of each a better prize. Collectible only, no marketboard stuff. Or…

Complete X fate chain 3..4.. times in the week, but only once per day. (Encourage peeps to do old fates to help people get things like the frog costume).

Now make like 20 different of these events, with 2 or 3 running any given week.

Reasons:
Basically, over the 10 years I’ve played, I’ve more or less done everything I want to do in the current state of the game. I have all jobs near max, I’ve done all the casual stuff like sightseeing or IS. There really isn’t anything specific that makes me want to spend a lot of time in game-I’m basically 50/50 on unsubbing til 7.0. I like the game, but there just isn’t enough “nonsense content” to keep me on. This is not a problem of the game- I’ve just milked it for all I could want.

Guildwars 2 however I’ll happily jump on and do an hour or two of beetle racing. There isn’t something like that I can just do in FFXIV. (Chocobo racing is a joke compared to beetles!)

GC airships seems to have been all but forgotten, would be nice if it got regular updates similar to the GC submarine.

Chocobo companion could use an update on the skills, it still has accuracy skills. Could also use some new companions.

Not update feature, but would love an emote sync option for dances and such so I don't have to eye-ball when to start a dance to be in sync with someone else. Even OG Guild Wars had this in 2005.

I don't know how it would be implemented or where, but some sort of tour airship/boat that took you around an area in real time would be fun ala old school travelling by boat in old mmos.
