


Agreed. It's discouraging to see them do something like this, to be honest. At one point I would have said that we should wait and see what is to come to the other jobs in the expansion, but...meh.But I digress, RDM over the years has had literally streams of good ideas to help overhaul or buff the job into at least a respectable position within a group, however many of those ideas got taken and given to other jobs like BLU, SCH, and even WHM and BLM. Now RDM has another potential enfeeble/hybrid job to compete with in an already unforgiving role, and another job that will likely take the magic fencer role away from RDM WHICH Tanaka and his crew never gave any honest effort into implementing right to begin with despite everything in RDM lore pointing directly to it.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
