Rune Fencer sounds like a WoW Clone Death Knight to me.

Runes as shown at BlizzCon 2007 (outdated). Early beta frame removed due to pet difficulties (outdated). The final frame art used since WotLK public release.
The death knight uses a unique rune-based resource system to govern his/her spells and abilities. Three rune types exist: blood, frost, and unholy, each with an attached color and symbol. Using certain abilities exhausts one or more runes, starting a cooldown of 10 seconds. After the cooldown, the runes refresh. The death knight can use spells to turn a rune into a Death Rune, which can be used as a blood, frost, or unholy rune. In addition, whenever the death knight uses a rune ability against a foe, it builds up a certain amount of Runic Power. This Runic Power is only used by few abilities. All abilities that use Runic Power use a set amount, like Death Coil. Death knights cannot reallocate the number and type of runes - they are fixed to two runes of each type.

On the same note, WoW's Rogue sounds like an FFXI clone Thief to me, WoW's Warrior sounds like an FFXI clone Warrior to me, WoW's Warlock sounds like an FFXI clone Summoner to me, WoW's Priest sounds like an FFXI clone White Mage to me, WoW's Mage sounds like an FFXI clone Black Mage to me, WoW's Hunter sounds like an FFXI clone Ranger to me, and WoW's Paladin sounds like an FFXI clone PLD/BRD to me.

I guess since they came out first, all others must be a copy, right?

There's no comparison between a guy that deals huge damage with daggers while using poisons and a guy that gets invited because of Treasure Hunter.

WoW's Warlock sounds like an FFXI clone Summoner to me

Can't really compare a guy who was useful and dealt great damage aside from bringing unique debuffs like Curse of the Elements with a guy who was only useful once every two hours and played as /WHM the rest of the time.

Mages have a good selection of wards, barriers and secondary spells in their arsenal. Call me when Black Mage gets Super-Ultra Hasteaga that lasts 20 seconds but increases everyone's attack and casting speeds by 400%.

Not really. Paladins didn't have a plethora of useless buffs/threnodies clogging their spellbooks. Pallys can go tank, heals or DPS without inviting insults or ridicule (whereas XI bred the squeaky-voiced "Knight" PLD with a two-handed sword as a way to mock the PLDs that wanted to do something other than tank).

This is all tongue in cheeck, mind you. =P

As far as what this has to do with Kuma's conjecture, I also thought that there would be some sort of rune system for Rune Fencer. I'm thinking it might be something akin to the way Strategems for SCH are gained. Specific actions costing a number of accumulated runes and some MP. Or something along those lines.

I linked you why I thought it was a clone. I did not compare names, I compared mechanics.
