    I made a thread on a lot of gathering wishes, but I did move into some customization: here. Focusing on the topic of customization (and not effects) for this thread, I imagine:

    - Wild landmarks (landmarks you can build in the non-industrious side, purposely designed to blend in with nature), some of these ideas related to effects in the thread above. Like if you built an animal shrine you'd have a chance each day an animal would leave leavings there (marked on the map when it happens).
    - Fences (so you don't have to use a million decorations lol)
    - In cliff facilities, for the thread above it was including a shrine mammet maiden place where you could buy charms that are a form of gathering upgrading, and also cliff face style changes (say if you wanted rock faces that were reinforced, similar to what we do to make pretty looking safe edges to steep slopes)
    - Mammet glamour, like moogle or poroggo
    - Harbor, which may even be upgraded to the point of personal airship (though obviously starting with a small boat, upgrading to multiple mammet fleets, etc). Naturally coming with mechanics to interact with the other nations, tribes, and even custom deliveries.
    - Using the above system, exploratory content that includes finding new lands which can introduce new buildings, mechanics, recipes, animals, plants, etc. But also potentially some of the lands may have nodes you can build on, with the addition of being able to create a headquarter / home you could very likely see placing your operations on different landmasses. For example you might unlock a Thanalan Oasis, central park Amarout, slice of land in the vast Azim Steppe region, Sea of Clouds Island, etc.
    - Allowing animals from the pasture to reach a point you can have them wander as specialty minions (though in the thread above had ideas for effects).

    Definitely more, listed in the thread but they were more on function.

    For specific thematic styles, I'd like to see Shirogane (Japanese) style buildings, and if land masses are added ideally at least a few designs that meet each landmass style- like if adding Sea of Clouds they might have sky pirate looking options. For the garden I'd like to see a water based (like rice, or even terrace if possible)- for the thread I believe I suggested it was a pump so instead of watering each plant you interacted with the pump a few times (could even be a bit Cuff-A-Cur like lol).

    Said it before Islands, that they should have node based content, add a prefab home-y place, and overtime add in housing systems as possible... I'm hoping the entire pipe dream is happening.

    If so, then one thought was to:

    -(do the steps already mentioned)
    -Add apartment room to the island via a door
    -Upgrade the apartment system such that it is like housing (internally), make current houses able to take the apartment as a door in the house (blending the two systems officially and they are now technically one). Housing owners would have head start upgrades based on the size they had bought (though they'd not be as expensive in the future for the new system as part of the price of ward houses would be the exclusivity of a physical address).
    -Keep demo for ward gardens / exterior, if you lose your ward slot you keep the internals associated to the internal system

    I mean I've mentioned this stuff nearly 10 years ago but /shrug, it's all starting to line up so I hope the dream train keeps chugging lol.

    I'm a huge fan of steampunk aesthetics so I'm very happy that this level of Island Sanctuary has gone in a steampunk direction. You're also able to glamour your island to lower level facilities while keeping higher level facility performance so I think it's perfectly fine to go in this direction.

    I do like steampunk aesthetics.... but also they feel out of place on the island. So I'm conflicted.

    Only real complaint, though, is I wish either the brick plazas and walkways were red brick, or that I could dye them. It annoys me that they mismatch the buildings.

    We can only see how they lead the content in the future.
    Though not many in the thread are specifically about the addition of themed buildings/variations. it makes sense.

    Reminds me of the smogged city SPost in that XIV reddit I scrolled past. Funny in its own way.

    The Current new Cozy Cabin is a but different in aesthetic compared to the buildings.

    And while there are other threads as another user pointed out, my intent was themeing alone, and new ideas others could come up with.(if SE was concerned on listing for theme ideas)

    It would make sense as they mentioned to also make the fences fit the style like in the pasture and etc.

    I'm surprised they haven't built a small bridge between the two cliffs separating the plantation and Landmark/facility that hang over the exit into the rest of the island.

    Can only see for now it seems.

    I don't think there would be a large uproar if it was just the furnishing part for housing. Like don't have a submarine or the ability to add NPCs/retainer bell/aetheryte.
    Have it literally be just decorating.

    I'm not sure what house you have.... but I can't send out a submarine from my personal house. That's limited to FC housing....

    As for the others, retainers selling items on your island would be pretty useless even if you could add them considering your island only exists when you're on it. So no one can come visit and buy your market board stuff unless they're your friend or in your free company, and also you have your island open to visitors AND you're currently on your own island.

    I don't see any problem, though, with letting people put summoning bells on their island. There's literally zero harm in that.

    Just another item I'd like to see, we have a cute pond near the pasture / farm, ability to add fish like as if it was a large aquarium

    On that note- given that fishing is more of a mini-game than a DoH for money and craft if they add fishing perhaps they just use the actual DoH.

    Yeah, I imagined that pond to original get turned into irrigation for the plants..,
    but that idea never came to be.

    There is quite alot they can do to the land..,

    But I can kind of understand why they would be reluctant to add certain changes to terrain.

    <was honestly surprised they even asked us, if we wanted to not Drill into the mountain Caves.., it made me think if there was a reason not to.., which so far, there is no reason not to.>

    Yes! I would love this! Or failing that, give us the Eastern Indoor Pond as an outdoor furnishing, or make a slightly different version for outdoor. I’ve always enjoyed fishing and was disappointed it didn’t get worked into the island in some way.

    Definitely, I thought it was going to be some sort of water system too.. Actually part of where the first page request for water farming (like rice) and terrace request came from. I was like.. "this looks like it should become a terrace". Who knows, that maybe is actually an intent already- if not I'd like to see it lol.

    So far it seems like they're not afraid to change terrain, and I like them to keep this mindset (assuming it looks better lol). While I still think it would be cool to get exploratory landmass concept like I listed on first page if not, I might see even a floating Island added to our Island .


    Just to keep on the wild landmark idea, changing some of the cave to a hot spring or alternatively having a cave entrance in our own village that goes down into a hot spring would be cool. There might be some facility we can build for like geothermal energy on one side and then hot spring on the other. The energy, just because I like ideas that have function (not just visual), might be used to power your ships for the harbor content. Use aetherial steam energy to power steampunk boats and potentially many many upgrade paths later airship.

    Outdoor aquarium furnishing would be cool. Maybe could be Island only to balance server loads. I could see wards not liking an item like that due to every house potentially having one 'outdoors'.

    Going back to the cliff wall 'buildings' / decorations, maybe an aetherial barrier aquarium- so its like a pocket to a sunlit cave (from above, can see from above) and on the cliff face it's a magical energy barrier that holds water in and allows you to see a very large aquarium.

    The other 2 buildings are such a nuisance. The current system is still an hindrance for greater, creative ideas.
    May be internal limitations, but I could see Emperor's Building glamour that just makes the building vanish lol. May offer 'layouts' that can adjust the socket placements and still follow their system. Certainly if they could allow custom placement than that's fine, why not, but I imagine placing large buildings with pathing would be a buggy mess and so I could preimagine it would work better if you can move everything with a bird's eye / god view camera without collision and the player is responsible for poor choices for conflicting pathing.

    Although honestly I really believe they should just throw their hands up in the air and for any 'non-ward exterior' space allow players to place objects with or without collision detection at any x y z orientation they want and if they mess up so bad they can't "reach it" anymore they can use the menu to remove the object and go again.
