    It brings to mind the battle high system which we all know only considers kills, assists and deaths. Time at the crystal, damage taken, done or healed should not weigh in but should be there to view and help evaluate each job's capability and performance. Would a score system based on battle high system not be sufficient to produce some maths for each individual in the winning team? Assists will need more rewarding to balance each jobs ability to kill, and the cost of death needs careful consideration. The ranking could look just as deep dungeons ranking is presented. We don't need any tiers. Loosing team could retain a percentage of their individual score so no match would be entirely pointless... I dunno, I'm probably fantasising here but on the surface it could be this simple. Show us the top few hundred ranking weekly and all should be well. We don't need to see each other's scores till they appear there. At the end of the season rewards will go to those who put in most effort into their team play and into the content. Make it a consistent grind through any season so people don't finish climbing while they are still bloodthirsty and end up climbing on their 5 alts too. Make rewards worth it. I mean everyone should get a portrait frame with their score and season number for a keepsake XD

    The merge needs to happen, somehow.

    It is what it is. I saw the signs, I said my warnings, I saw my hands getting slapped, I nope out. Now, it’s buyer’s remorse. That rank decay was a death knell from me. I can’t blame players going to casual. The only thing I can see rank is for prestige. They could follow the SF6 route. The only time you rank decay is at the highest of the high rank. If you face a higher rank player and won while at lower rank, you gain more points, but the higher ranks facing lower ranks lose none. You only lose points facing a player at the same rank as your own.

    If they were to merge them, an MMR system is the best way of replacing it. Might want it to just be visible or make it so you have to jump through hoops to see it if they don't want to scare away people who see casual as safer.

    Either you have a rank and it is ranked or you don't and it is unranked/casual.

    The whole point of casual is the lack of a rank, therefore nothing on the line. Just adding rank in there would alienate the people who want to pvp while actively avoiding ranking systems.

    To be fair the whole point of casual modes in pvp games is to warm up for ranked play. Nobody does that though. lol
