What the heck? Ultimates respecting my time? This has to be one of the types of content in game that is literally constructed around artificial difficulty based on 20min long bosses where you literally have to replay 10-15min of the fight every time you want to prog further in the latest phases...

Considering both DSR and TOP exist, i'd say neither ranked or ultimate raids respect your time.

A less joking answer, I think both have a subjectively different/equal amount of time disrespect if that makes any sense. Raids this expansion have felt incredibly disrespectful to the time investment, especially when you get horribly designed later phases that also just have bugs at launch when the game has traditionally not had them. Meanwhile PvP has times where you can get hardstuck in a certain rank for a while and not having any clear way for you to get out of that rut. Granted though, that's more of a problem with PvP in games overall rather than XIV's PvP specifically. If I had to choose, i'd rather do ranked with complete randoms with some attempt to least win a fight with my own skill than just depend on several other people to do Death of the Heaven's correctly and not die to the team jump rope mechanic.

I wish I could be a special type of masochist tbh so glad I can appear to you that way. Also I do agree it would be nice to do ranked with friends, and honestly just any form of pre-made groups in CC would be good. Imagine actually having the ability to play with your friends in a multiplayer game =).

Unless you are VERY lucky you will make more progress in a Ultimate raid then you will ranked in a day, not to mention you will probably feel better about completing a ultimate raid then you will hitting crystal.

The answer for me is ranked pvp, even though it's not respecting my time for a lot of reasons as well, mainly seasons releasing at the same time as savage/ultimates, and just shit days where you drop back to the bottom of plat because whatever (but ultimates also have those, and enough of them and your static will start having drama, get toxic and/or explode).

If you mean better as in feeling relieved to be delivered of that hell, then sure.

i Respect your choice, raid statics ARE super toxic and the only reason why ranked is not as toxic is because you can only use quick chat. funny how that works.
