Unbroken Frontline Loss Streak since becomong mentor

Hello everyone,

I am kindof confused.

I became a mentor a few days ago, because I thought I could be helpful to newer players. Some people I met helped me along the way, so I was wanting to do the same in the future.

I spent a day finalizing role quests I needed to do this.

Once I became a mentor however, I have handily lost every single front line match. It really is never even close. The most any team I have been on has been second place by a distant margin.

While teams were generally a mixed bag before, some chat and team work seemed to help, but the teams I am now being matched with are full of people who have not got hot bars set up, who seem extremely new to pvp and generally, seem to be struggling to understand how to play.

I have gone from having over 50% first place wins in front line, to 0% frontline wins since becoming a mentor. I have lost about 25 games in a row now.

While I know many will say "it's obviously your fault" I do not know how that can be the case if I did so well before that point.

I am wondering whether becoming a mentor affects how the match making is calculated or something. If anyone told me that becoming a mentor would make front line like this, I would not have done this because it feels punitive.

I already cannot do mentor roullete because there are so many dungeons I didn't have unlocked, the game did not tell me that I had to unlock every single dungeon and duty in the game in order to do the roullete, so other than a little crown Icon, it feels like I am just being punished with this pvp match making change.

I want to be helpful, but I only have so much patience, and the only reason I have kept playing front line at all is because the reward for losing is now basically equivalent to winning from such a long loss streak. Regardless though, its so demoralizing when I work hard for my team and the results are like thsi for so long.

Is it supposed to be like this? If mentor status makes you ahve this kind of match making I think it should tell you that.

Frontlines doesn't have matchmaking. It's completely random. Believe me Square doesn't have the resources, or competence to implement a matchmaking system. I've not noticed a difference on my mentor/non mentor characters personally.

Seems like a run of badluck to me personally. PvP in this game really just needs a PvP tutorial, just like hall of the novice, before people can queue into it.

Winning has nothing to do with your character,
it all depends on the team and your own contribution.

Other factors:
- Premade groups
- The jobs you have on your team.
- Communication

If you start noticing huge loss Streaks that is a indication someone on the enemy team came in with a couple of friends is coordinating the FL.

Usually when I notice that I quit for a bit, and comeback later.

On primal this is almost always a tell tale sign of the FL Commanders being in queue. Curse your fate and move on.

The matchmaking queue definitely seems skewed. I PvP across three different characters, solo queued on each, and it seems like each week the wins and losses will skew drastically toward one side or the other per each character. One character will end up with a 60+% first place, while another will only have 10-20% first place. It happens often enough that it seems like it's more than just coincidence at play. This is with about 10-20+ matches per character as well.
