Ah. You meant non-MMORPG games. Thanks for the clarification.have you played the sims? v-rising, ark survival evolved, rust, satisfactory, factorio, subnautica, valheim, minecraft, cities skylines and lots more, these are just the ones off the top of my head where i have seen some amazing builds as well as very easy to build in.
In both factorio and minecraft, people have created computers within the games. Someone even made pacman in factorio.
FF14 is the only game that has pretty severe restrictions on what you can and can't do and the only way to bypass some of those restrictions is to abuse bugs or use a 3rd party tool that goes against the terms of service which can result in your account being banned.
I'm sorry you seem to have not played any other games in the last 20 years, but fyi, there's A LOT out there, so you should try expanding your horizons.
You are mistaken that "FF14 is the only game that has pretty severe restrictions on what you can and can't do" with housing. So, let me rephrase: "What MMORPGs do not have limits on housing item placement?"
I just want an editing mode similar to one of the best of all, Halo's Forge mode with the ability to float/fly when decorating and having free movement on all axis and it's very user friendly on both controllers and on a KB/M too.
Unlimited, what's the problem? First of all, your RAM is not infinite.Yoshi-P himself said that increasing the number of items you can place in a house is something they want to do in 7.X, but he was very noncommittal about it, and it was clear that no promises were made. Obviously, if resources were unlimited, he'd let us put a few million items in there for all he cares, but they're not. Do you think this will actually happen?
And secondly, in general, people think for themselves and say it's unlimited furniture for ME.
But you have to multiply by the number of houses. I speak in DB.

Still Useless... To have so many Commendations in 2024
It cracks me up that the community is complaining to the devs about a problem they created for themselves. If everyone woke up tomorrow and decided to stop DC traveling, both problems would be solved instantly. The failure has been in player attitudes and the demand for instant gratification, not in Dynamis being added. If those who have Dynamis as a home world for their character(s) would stay to play on Dynamis instead of hopping over to Aether, they would realize that Dynamis has more players than they thought.
I feel that's a touch hollow..
Mostly because, even though yes the issue is entirely the communitys fault, there is also the other issue of incentivizing people to move. Of which there is next-to-none. If you're set-up on Balmung for example. have a house and an FC, complete with personal & FC house.. Why would you move?
At present (which is kind of lackluster, given it's August now) people are using the new servers to make new characters, use the Road-to-80, yet go to the actual populated servers to get things done. Because their server / data-center doesnt have the numbers or people at X point in the game yet to DO what they want. (And DC-travelling is certainly making it worse. I see the vicious cycle and hints of irony in that statement)
The new servers really only benefit NEW PLAYERS or people willing to make Alt characters and use the road-to-80. Or the people desperate to get a house, yet that point was proven false given how many purchased houses got demolished within the 45-day demo time. People bought the house, then did nothing with it. Which goes alongside a noticeable drop in people "demanding housing for all".
A fair amount of people have purchased the houses, realized it's not for them and have since left, or are now advocating for improvements purely from their perspective. Still bearing fangs for reasons that escape me.
I'm pretty sure if DC Travel didn't exist as it was now Dynamis would have less players than it does now. Not more.
Its easy to point the finger at people who complain about it but live on DC Travel, but a lot of people who went to Dynamis only went there in the first place because DC travel existed and they knew there was an easy out to its population problems.
If cut off or limited dc travel from dynamis, I'd demolish my house and move data centers
You're no doubt correct. What's difficult to say is just how much lower the population would be. Would it be at Materia levels or still somewhat close to what it currently is?I'm pretty sure if DC Travel didn't exist as it was now Dynamis would have less players than it does now. Not more.

I'm now wondering if the timing of the addition of Dynamis along with the new EU worlds was related to the Xbox announcement and if that ended up being later than they expected. Having the new worlds opened 6-10 months in advance of the Xbox beta would have made more sense than having them open 18-22 months in advance
That's an interesting thought. If I had to guess, I'd say they were expecting server delays to be worse, or to have gone on longer, and ordered them with more lead time than necessary.I'm now wondering if the timing of the addition of Dynamis along with the new EU worlds was related to the Xbox announcement and if that ended up being later than they expected. That's his way of saying -
"It'll come but I'm not making you any promises on when"
It could come ANYTIME during Dawntrail.
IF it does come, it's probably gonna be a small but meaningful increase because housing items do take up server resources and PS4 support is still a thing, more items = takes longer to load.
Probably be like +25, +50, +75, +100 dependent on size

You probably wouldn't, and that's fine. The new servers were added to accommodate the future growth of the game, which mainly means new players. The problem is that instead of letting the DC's community grow organically over time like any other MMO server in history, DC travel has completely kneecapped that.Mostly because, even though yes the issue is entirely the communitys fault, there is also the other issue of incentivizing people to move. Of which there is next-to-none. If you're set-up on Balmung for example. have a house and an FC, complete with personal & FC house.. Why would you move?
I'm sure some players would throw a fit and leave, but even if that happened in the short term, the long term result would be a much healthier DC.
