Help with aethercell gloves

Im trying to scare up these gloves. I (without knowing this) bought a level skip for a scholar so i could get them.

Sadly you dont get squat...so i got shafted after blowing 25 bucks on square(not happy). Is there any other way to get them besides that yolaine from the hunts? as its gonna take me forever to get to second lt. so i can do a farm to get the centurio seals to buy it.

Ive been searching everywhere to no avail and i think im completely shafted.

You can buy a recoloured version from the PVP trophy crystal vendor.

If you need the original version, I think you can get seals from A and S ranks without having officially unlocked Hunts.

Beyond that, you can sometimes get them from retainer quick ventures, but that's not really viable.

But really it doesn't take that long to get yourself ranked up in your GC – focus on doing the daily levelling roulette as the role in need, get through the hunting logs and run a few dungeons unsynched. Once you get there, having access to B rank "wanted posters" is your quickest and most reliable way of getting a chunk of seals for minimal effort when you want to buy gear from the vendors. There are multiple unique gearsets and other prizes from each expansion.

The PvP ones (they reprinted this set and can be previewed at the Wolves Den PvP hub area which can be accessed after unlocking it at the Aftcastle city warp in Limsa Lominsa, you wanna look for the Grand Company HQ for the Maelstrom who operate the Wolves Den Pier) are your quickest option, once you do get hunts unlocked in HW you can do weekly B rank and that day's regular hunts and be pretty close to being able to buy it as the price was reduced at a certain point I think, but the subsequent expansion Stormblood has Hunts as well that also use the same currency and they have their own hunt assignments so I might be mistaking having double the sources to farm up those hunt seals with a price nerf on the gloves themselves.

Otherwise you can buy them at the Forgotten Knight at Ishgard for 70 centurio seals and the B rank reward for HW hunts is 100 so once you can do those the Aethercell gloves are as good as yours. But HW was forever ago so idk if a GC rank is needed, as it's usually just expansion progress that opens up the 3 tiers of daily hunts with you finally unlocking B rank hunts at around the halfway point or a bit beyond that.

It is. You still need the GC rank to unlock the Hunt before the subsequent expansion Hunts can be unlocked. A higher level character can get 2nd Lt. in a couple of hours. OP may already have a lot of the seals needed if they've been doing leveling roulettes. Once Sgt. Second Class is obtained, it's smooth sailing since the OP would have access to Expert Deliveries for getting the rest of the seals needed.

Lets see if we can do this without the headache.

Go to the Wolves Den(the pvp hub area) and look at the trophy crystal set Iscah and Alpheus mentioned. If you like the recolor version you can run frontlines once or twice, or do maybe 30ish mins of crystalline conflict. Either one should give you enough crystals to buy the item. Congrats youre done.

If you dont like the recolor, then we can get you the original. Get your GC rank up. Start doing it now. Use whatever seals you have to buy the next couple ranks. Once you get to sergeant 2nd class you get a fast new way to earn seals - expert deliveries. That lets you turn in pink/green/blue backgrounded items for seals. At that point, run the highest level dungeon you can, get all the items you can, turn them in, buy ranks. If you have gil? Buy crafted items that qualify(look for the cheapest highest level ones of course), turn them in, buy ranks. Being high level means you are able to get all the ranks you need in a couple hours.

Once you rank up enough that you can unlock HW hunts, pick up this weeks B rank from the board at the Forgotten Knight. Go kill it. This will give you enough currency to buy the item you want. Buy the item. You are done. Congrats.

And just to quickly add on, the reason we are specifying that the PvP version is a recolor/reprint of the gloves is because it is usually (but not always) the case that a reprint of gear may dye differently than the original. Which can be previewed by right clicking in the vendor menu and selecting try on, and from there you can model the dye. But do bear in mind the lighting in the Try On window is flat and not all graphical effects are 1:1 when actually displayed on your person.

Note that the level 60 Aethercell gloves you buy with centurio seals maintain the light up white tubes when dyed, and some of the other parts of the item change color. The level 1 PvP version you get from the Wolves Den will have the light up tubes change to the color of the dye used.
