To the folks claiming this content is easy..well...is it possible for you do to speed runs with pick up groups, or garuda consistently with pick ups? I haven't had any luck and I've made so many pick up groups ; ;

It's hard enough to even just win with a pick-up group let alone do it quickly. If it is made possible for people to do things with pick-up groups combined with the Content Finder it should help players meet others and get into Linkshells and gain the skill, experience and friends to be able to do the additional objectives and hard mode battles. If people aren't going to be able to do any of these things with a pick-up group then it is going to discourage a lot of players and the community will continue to shrink.
I've noticed this too, even in FFXI. They seem to appreciate teamwork and want to work together more than us. Most of the EN PUGs seem to expect you to play in sync with them automatically and prefer insults to errors than advice to success.

So all they need is just implement a faceroll mode that is repeatable? as pointless as that may be, i don't see anyone do it more than once for story/clearance purpose.Bad players = Money, its going to happen.
Game needs to be easier, simpler and more accessible, you can look at some of the big successes (new and old) to see why. And strategy isnt a form of easy/hard, also you can only do the low lv primal once, unless you follow someone, always relying on that other person to have it.
Game needs to be easier in the right context.
People will still want the loot from hardmode and complains it being too hard, what exactly will this accomplish? Im not going to argue that bad players = money though, since it's true that there are so many bad players around and implementation of easy-mode doesn't bother me in one way or another.
Beside we alraedy have easier way to obtain good gears like GC seals? that seems very easy, simpler, and more accessible for people that do not want go after Darklight Gears. The Liutenant weapons are also basically somewhat only marginally less strong than Garuda's so that is also good alternative for people that are unable to beat Garuda normally.
My screenshoot was also all JP PUG, its true that they teamwork better than most EN PUGs because they don't curse or give up halfway or starts blaming on people, they apologizes even if it wasn't their faulty, they have proper strat laid out before entering.. not "ok let's try it anyway, idk what will happen inside"
Personally i have no issue with a content finder allowing access to any grade of difficulty. It will always be easier for a group to know eachother or have vent/mumble to complete harder content. I fail to see why a pick up group via content finder should be denied the chance to attempt it for no other reason then the use of content finder.
If a pickup group can beat a higher difficulty instance then good on them. It means despite not knowing eachother they are all capable of fulfilling their roles despite that. If they fail then they fail.
If i'm in a position where the only available way to attempt an instance at that time is via Content finder then i would rather attempt with a higher chance of failure then not be able to attempt at all.
And i apolagize if i'm misreading the tone, but it sound alot like an attempt to deny content to a segment of a game population. I'm not one to agree with that line of thinking. If a group tries to pick up group something. and they fail/lose then the loss is enough. I see no reason to deny them the attempt itself.
The only negative i could see its the uptick in whining about difficulty, but by having multiple difficulty settings thats half the battle there. And if folks are really scared of whining, its best to disconnect your modem. There is no escape from internet whines.
TL;DR, No reason to deny the attempt via Content finder. The much lower chances of a pickup winning is a barrier enough on its own.
Edit: Also, maybe if people can pug some attempts and learn some fights, folks wouldn't have to badmouth eachother so much cause they don't "know the fight".

Viritess I'm not sure if anyone is suggesting that the Content Finder not allow people to find groups for content though some of the responses do sound like they think pick-up groups shouldn't be able to accomplish this content. I don't know why they would think that way though.
Its just one of a few trends i've seen in content finder discussions that seemed to be showing a bit here in replies so i thought i'd state my opinion on the matter.Viritess I'm not sure if anyone is suggesting that the Content Finder not allow people to find groups for content though some of the responses do sound like they think pick-up groups shouldn't be able to accomplish this content. Bring on the hard stuff by all means. But i wouldn't mind seeing quality players randomly put to gether beat something hard either. In some ways thats part of the fun of randomness in grouping.
Depending on how random it actually is it can be pretty neat to actually defeat something you went into thinking "I don't know anyone here...and we may have a less then optimum build for this fight". When the boss actually drops dead its a good but slightly different feeling.
Being humans we can settle into habits where we try to make a standard when we play, either a specific party build, or specific people and theres nothing wrong with that. I enjoy it too. But i also enjoy some times being put into a tough fight, with people i don't know, and didn't hand pick and seeing if we can work it out and win!
Not to mention that Content finders are actually a good teaching tool for new players. Some people don't have the patience to do so. Some folks take offence to advice, but some really appritiate it and its alot more fun to learn something new while your playing.
I think using pickup groups with content finder should just be looked at and taken differently then a static or LS group in my opinion. Everyone wants to win. And everyone should be trying their best but expectations should be tempered by the use of such a tool.
Just my opinion, i don't mean to offend anyone.
That UI.Yes, done it many times ;p

My eyes.
Shame I can never pull a PUG for any of the instanced content/Garuda. Nobody on my server does that anymore aside from dedicated linkshells.
