Need some help with the Draw Distance :x

Hello, I've been playing for about a week now and I'm loving the game but this issue is just getting on my last nerves...

It's the drawing distance, If I have my camera pointed at the ground or at the sky the game plays perfectly with no graphical lag what-so-ever. However if it's pointed to the horizon the frame rate drops harder than the bass in a dubstep song. All of my settings are on the lowest of the low expect for the general drawing quality which is at 4. I can bump up a lot of the settings if there is a way to lower what I see in the distance. My distance drawing setting is at 1 and yet I can "see" for like 12 miles ahead of me which sucks because at that setting of "1" everything on the horizon looks like an NES game.

My computer has no problems running any other games and it wouldn't with this game if there was a way to reduce the drawing distance but instead I can only find an option to reduce the distance drawing quality. @_@

So my question is, is there ANY way I can reduce how much I can see around me or am I fresh out of luck?

Their not the best but they've never failed me before, I can run Aion flawlessly with it. :x

Also this is a laptop otherwise I'd go out and get a better graphic's card since I think that's the issue but if I can limit the draw distance there won't be an issue. :3

Aion runs on a better graphics engine and probably scales better for lower end computers.
Your specifications are pretty low, and I think it's just a case of FF14's engine not being very scalable at all.

    inb4 wait for 2.0

This will probably not be as much of a problem in version 2.0.

That's what I was afraid of...I think I might just save up for a good desktop, don't wanna keep playing it like this plus I'd be able to play 2.0 on better settings. :/

I'm actually kind of surprised Aion runs on your laptop at all, considering it uses the same engine as Crysis. Guess it's more scalable than I thought.

Shame FFXIV's isn't flexible, I really love the current look of the game which is I want to keep playing then switch to a different mmo before 2.0 ( Not that I don't like 2.0's style this one just feels so...classic, like the older non-technological Final Fantasy's )

Changing the graphics engine doesn't necessarily mean changing the graphical art style. What I've seen from v2, the art style seems to be more or less the same.

Do you have a desktop? The graphics card is the only issue here..
