How to gather spodumene

I have 3853 perception and was able to gather soft silver. However I cannot see spodumene in Elpis at 30,18 from 8-10ET. I see others mining it so sure I am at right spot. Do I need more perception than with soft silver? (Gathering is only 3701 - could that be an issue here?)

If you can gather softsilver, you shouldn't be having any problems with raw spodumene. They're the same difficulty level.

Are you using a food to meet the node requirements that might be dropping off as you head to the spodumene? I've had that happen to me.

Thanks for replying. I see the problem. I was missing the Tome of Geo Folklore - The World Unsundered. I did so much mining in Patch 6.2 of collectables thought I had all tomes when I returned for Patch 6.4 but I did not.
