Please remove glam restrictions

As the title says, I believe they should make all gear open season for glam save for AF gear and weapons.

I understand the restrictions as far as actually wearing the stuff or rolling on it, but glam? It seems a bit much. The biggest argument against this is easily "job identity" but so long as the AF (job specific sets) remain restricted, I don't see how this matters. For example even though the game says a MNK can't wear a caster robe, there's nothing stopping him from putting on a literal dress instead. By that same token, even though the game says a WHM can't wear a suit of armor, they could get one via PvP during an applicable season. Hell, they even passed out a full set of what was VERY obviously SAM appropriate armor to EVERYONE during a recent event. Not to mention, every time I queue into DF I'll see at least one or two jokers running in with a bunny suit, bathing suit, mascot costume, or hell they might even be completely naked. With all of this in play keeping the restrictions seems asinine, especially since they clearly can't keep up with creating wholly new sets as every new expac/patch features recolors of older gear in some form. Besides, weapons preserve identity enough given how they're all unique based on job for the most part. These restrictions already don't exist for NPC characters (off the top of my head, the RPR trainer is wearing the Crystarium aiming jacket for example) so keeping them for us seems ridiculous.

TL;DR, I propose the following:
-You can now glam all gear regardless of job save for AF sets and weapons.
-You cannot actively wear this gear unless it was intended for your job to prevent stupidity.
-You cannot roll need on this gear unless it was intended for your job to prevent unfairness.

Thoughts? Opinions?

i agree. everything except af gear should be available for every job.

at this point it doesnt make sense otherwise. looking at dresses, bikinis and pvp armour

100% agree. We already have all job plate armor, bikinis, chocobo suits. jobs dont have identity anymore from a glance anyways. Open up everything thats not a AF set! including that crafter/gatherer gear that looks so fancy but rarely gets seen

We got basically Alchemist AF gear for Halloween, the newest gear from Island Sanctuary looks like Scholar AF gear, you mentioned Samurai...

Really their excuse for not allowing unlocked glamour can't hold up anymore.

Yup, the moment a gear piece hits the glamour dresser it should be automatically converted into an 'all classes' glam. The fact that I can look like a huge Tonberry but can't wear Striking glam (short tops, pants) as a Red Mage is ridiculous. I'm so sick of long Casting robes, I'm not a Black Mage!

Agreed. I, for one, would love to be able to wear/Glam my favorite outfit (Panthean Robe of Casting) whilst playing as, for example, a Dancer!

As has already been mentioned, when you can queue for a Trial roulette and find yourself in a team consisting of a Frog, a Chicken, a Tonberry and a Au-Ra in a tiny bikini I think its pretty safe to say that restrictions are somewhat redundant!

Isn't there a multiple year long mega thread over this?

We really deserve it but they refuse and the majority of the community will support them regardless so I don't think they'll ever bother. It's apparently too much effort for them.

I think the real reason is that they can't sell an older set from Job A as a "new" set for Job B then anymore. Happens often with dungeon gear or starter gear of new jobs.

Are you referring to how things such as the Muzhik Coat(Reaper Top that you get from starting RPR) is essentially a slightly modified Void Ark Coat of Striking?

It's still a pretty crooked reason. It's just outright laziness then. They want to deny player's creativity over that?
