This is Square Enix, they havent fixed the housing scarcity since it's been released, please forgive me for having 0 faith in them. It took them multiple years to add 5 wards that were filled in 2 rounds so yeah faith is pretty much 0

"Square can't do what modders have been doing for years" is such an asinine thing to me.
Imagine thinking that a mod, even just a reshader, which is completely client side, and only affects the stability of the software on a client side basis, has the same impact as a server side reshader, which again, is server side and actually gets recognized by the game and goes out to millions of people.
Am I defending Square and saying that it's okay if they don't have this? Nah, I'm a realist. There will probably be bugs and crashes upon release. And it'll be frustrating. That's the state of games nowadays, unfortunately. It really sucks. But I'm also not so silly as to think that just because a modder has been able to do it that it really is a simple task when it comes to implementing it server side and only a buffoon could mess it up.
You can't just copy and paste a client side mod into server side and have it work. So the notion that "modders have been doing it for years" literally holds no weight whatsoever.

Why would be server responsible for that? Do you just send raw frame + metadata, which for 1080p is ~8MB per single frame to the server, which does postprocessing and sends you improved 8MB frame??? With 60 frames, that's 480MB bandwith up and down per client, which is straight up impossible with even best customer-grade available internet connection, not speaking about the fact that you would be throttled by another parts of your PC unless you're playing on NASA PC. What the fuck are you talking about. This is not how it works. This is not how any of this works.
Half fitting real world analogy would be electric car without battery, which needs to be plugged 24/7 using extension cords that leads all the way to your house.

That being said, yes it is an asinine thing to say, as shaders is just post-processing so it cannot fix or change vertex/polygon count on 3D models. So there are absolutely things that SE can do that shaders cannot do. That also said, it won't magically resolve every woe, and nor will it really eliminate the shader entirely, since they will like aim to resolve different things. At best shaders can only 'simulate' this.
But seeing as this game runs across multiple platforms it's borderline insane to make mockery of it considering 1 platform cannot do this in any capacity.
But anyone saying that the graphical update can and will only do everything that shaders already do is just... Naïve at best
