    Suggestion/Request: Waymark Features - Simple/Hide/Compass/Color Select (w/Mockups)

Yes, I am making a topic because I can't stand the default NA Waymarks for the Voidcast Dais EX.

I'll spare the entire rant, but I find the ring of cardinals/intercardinals to be an absolute eyesore that actively make me hate looking at the game. I know there are alternatives, but most ppl have learned the ring and aren't willing to compromise with a different setup.

I'm tired of debating markers and would like more options/alternatives that I can utilize in game that will only effect my own experience...

    1) Simple Markers
    a. Flat markers that hover above the surface of the ground (high enough to float above ground telegraphs)
    b. Do not rotate with camera (are always oriented so that the marker's top=north)

I made some mockups to visualize what I'm thinking:

    2) Hide Markers
An option to hide markers on my screen only without actually removing them for the rest of the party.

    3) Toggles for Simple/Hide on the Waymark Submenu
I'd like to be quickly toggle Simple or Hide Markers mid-battle if necessary.

    Mockup:

    4) Compass Markers
I feel like a common use for markers is for orientation and thought it be nice to have NESW markers since those are symbols that many will already be familiar with associating with cardinal directions.

    5) Color Customization for Markers
I think this would be a good addition not only as an accessibility feature, but also so that if a particular fight's color palette unintentionally makes any marker's default color difficult to see then players have the option to alter that marker's color at will in game.

    These are all great ideas.
Though uh, for the compass ones why not just look at your ingame compass?

Either way I like the idea of flat markers a lot.

The same reason why even mark NESW with ABCD for orientation in the first place. It helps some ppl to have the markers on screen in the background periphery so they can quickly orient themself without have to glance at the minimap/compass. I'm with you though, as I generally prefer to run things with as few markers as possible.

I decided to suggest Compass markers because while I was looking up other topics I took note of some grumblings of inconsistencies with marker usage and/or callouts and ppl having to reassociate directions with letters/numbers. For example a callout of "left" instead of west when everyone is not facing the same direction.

Round arenas make markers required, compass or ABCD works the same.

See I would still argue than if a marker is just for orientation that really you only need 1 marker for North even in a round arena.

Again, I'm actually an advocate for minimal markers... but I still think it would be nice to have additional compass markers added since they would utilize existing knowledge that I anecdotally believe in my heart that most people are exposed to at some point growing up between schooling, day to day use of things like Google Maps, other media, and even this very game since (as was pointed out previously) the minimap has compass directions on it as well.

Compass directions have been reinforced outside of the game so I think it's more natural to be facing N and instinctively know that S is behind you versus facing B and having to take a second to translate B=what? Not to mention that ABCD aren't always used as cardinals so their meaning may change fight to fight.

And like... I'm still trying to not do the full rant, but I was frustrated enough to make this post by the Voidcast Dais markers that have ABCD cardinals and 1234 intercardinals in a tight ring in quite possibly the smallest EX Trial arena. I would argue that ABCD are more than enough markers to establish spread positions considering all the lines on the floor of the arena that clearly identify where to stand for other mechanics. Why even 1234?
