Round arenas make markers required, compass or ABCD works the same.

See I would still argue than if a marker is just for orientation that really you only need 1 marker for North even in a round arena.

Again, I'm actually an advocate for minimal markers... but I still think it would be nice to have additional compass markers added since they would utilize existing knowledge that I anecdotally believe in my heart that most people are exposed to at some point growing up between schooling, day to day use of things like Google Maps, other media, and even this very game since (as was pointed out previously) the minimap has compass directions on it as well.

Compass directions have been reinforced outside of the game so I think it's more natural to be facing N and instinctively know that S is behind you versus facing B and having to take a second to translate B=what? Not to mention that ABCD aren't always used as cardinals so their meaning may change fight to fight.

And like... I'm still trying to not do the full rant, but I was frustrated enough to make this post by the Voidcast Dais markers that have ABCD cardinals and 1234 intercardinals in a tight ring in quite possibly the smallest EX Trial arena. I would argue that ABCD are more than enough markers to establish spread positions considering all the lines on the floor of the arena that clearly identify where to stand for other mechanics. Why even 1234?
