If you see this behavior, don't participate and encourage others not to participate.
They can only get away with it if you let them.

Hallo,
Hello,
ich habe neue Infos zum Thema Karawanen-Begleitschutz für euch.
I have new information on the topic of Caravan Escort for you.
Uns wurde vermehrt berichtet, dass einzelne Spieler nach Beginn des Events direkt zum Endpunkt laufen und dort darauf warten, dass sie die Belohnung erhalten.
It has been reported to us that some players will at the beginning of the event run straight to the finish line and wait to receive the reward.
In Version 2.0 werden wir jedoch Anpassungen am Karawanen-Begleitschutz vornehmen und uns gleichzeitig auch mit diesem Problem auseinandersetzen.
However in version 2.0 we will be making adjustments to caravan escort and will be simultaneously addressing this problem.
I'm not a fool. I'm tired of people whining about social problems in a social game. I'm not saying it doesn't need some restrictions but alot of players are suggesting to make it a closed event thus taking a large bit of the social part out of it. I don't approve of that. If I wanted to play a game with no drama I'd play a single player game.
biggest issue with the game is everything is instanced and forces you to group up in things that should be a open world event, just hope 2.0 is better at doing this. other games do this and you can still be in a world group with out having to be in a actual party but your still aiming for the same thing. like WoW battle grounds, FFXI campaign.Good and Negative social interactions are part of life, why ask to take that away? Why do people want to control the social aspects of games so rigorously? Your asking for censorship and I don't want that there's jerks everywhere the solution is not just to modify structure so you don't have to play with others... Clearly the only thing se needs to do is make more requirements to be rewarded instead of just intancing it or only allowing a party. I like social content that puts you with strangers
Well we shouldn't just allow this type of behavior to happen. It's an exploit, and one that hinges on the work of others. The construction of the system shouldn't allow for this type of thing to happen, especially so easily.I'm not a fool. I'm tired of people whining about social problems in a social game. I'll run a Caravan run regardless if I get a party invite or not. Much as I dislike the "Free For All" concept it's right now the the only tactic being used. However I always make certain to contribute be it holding the Caravan at certain points to spawn the extra enemies, healing/buffing, or trying to get in some sort of attacks. If you can't contribute in some form or manner then I strongly agree there should be some kind of penalty for it. Honestly what I'm seeing is possibly there being something like a timer implemented that will disallow immediate reentry from the Caravan runs, something similar to how they do it with Behest. A successful Caravan run will bar you from entering until say the last minute or two before the Caravan departs. This lets those waiting get a chance but still allows those who joined on the last run to enlist should there be room.
Hello,
The other night I was doing caravan runs. Me and 1 other joined the caravan, as did 6 others (presumably 6/8 from another party that teleported in). When they found out that not all 8 of them could participate they choose to abandon the caravan, leaving just me and 1 other person to try and defend it all the way.
I do not understand this behaviour: Rather than spend 15 minutes to win 750 seals, they choose to spend 15 minutes standing by and getting 0 seals.
It is a sad world we live in where there are people like this. But it is a reality that there are many people out there with such dishonourable and unrespectable behaviour. All I could do for my part was note their LS names and ensure that I do not work with them or help them in the future.
You have to realize that by having leechers, the Caravan is compromised of even getting just a 750. And if they continue to let the leechers get away with leeching, the issue is not solved and they get away completely unpunished. They made the decision to sacrifice 15 minutes so that the leecher didn't get his/her free stuff. How is that dishonorable?Hello,

On a side note, I just saw one of the leechers (I remembered the name) calling out for assistance in Ul'dah. I promptly made aware to everyone in Ul'dah the nature of that character's behavior in caravan missions. I don't know if it helped, but it sure as hell felt good.

I just reported you for verbally attacking me and the stuff you just did. Thank you very much for this!
Quite interesting that you'd report anyone while pulling your little exploits. If you think I'm scared I'm not. If they'd punish me for that over punishing you for the stuff you are doing, at least I'll be able to speak directly to a GM about this issue. We are the victims here, not you.
When all else fails, Heck the Bed.
