    Questions about Guildleves and "Grinding"

I've read several posts here that say Regional and Local leves have differnet allotments but I've been playing for several days now without doing a crafting leve but allotment is still zero and seems to be linked to the Regional ones. Did this get changed or am I doing something wrong perhaps?

I realize that once I'm out of leves I need to "grind" if I want to level more, my question is whether or not there are any type of "xp boots" to facilitate this process besides the 3% from eating any random food.

    Thank you

    Hello Zazen!

As you have noticed, legional and Local leves share allotments. Make sure you make the most of your battlecraft leves (difficulty and speed bonus, high enough level) and do Behest at the leve camp every 30 min to speed up exp a little.

If you log out in the inn room, your character will start accumulating "rested exp bonus" which will give you 50% EXP bonus (in addition to the food bonus). The amount of bonus (how long it will last) depends on how long your character has stayed in the inn (max is one week).

I also recommend getting some people to party with, if you don't want to grind, you can ask people in leve camp to team up and share your leves with each other.

No problem! One thing I forgot to mention is that you have to complete a quest to get access to the inn. You can open the quest by talking to the inn NPC (marked with bed icon on your map). Before that you will have to complete either Treasures of the Main, Souls Gone Wild, or Court in the Sands main scenario quest.

The thing that regional and local leves do not share is the cap. Normally you may only accept up to 8 leves at a time, but you can accept 8 regional leves and 8 local leves for 16 total.

Sorry for hijacking the thread but I figured it will be better to ask here rather than starting a new thread.

My question is, any guide on where to find monsters? I just returned to the game (haven't played since Dec 2011) and I remember having a problem after doing all my leves. I kept searching for monsters to grind but couldn't find a good place to grind (either too few monsters or too strong). Any idea where I could find a guide or maybe some information on where to grind?

Again, sorry for hijacking and thanks in advance

Hello Efteer and welcome back to XIV!

There are usually good grinding spots close to the camp at the right level range (so if you need to find level 20+ mobs, search them close to the level 20 leve camp).

The Moogle Box mob location tool is great for searching monsters and this site has all the most popular EXP camps listed.

People also form EXP parties quite a lot these days (you can see shouts for them in Ul'dah on my server at least). I recommend putting your party search flag up too.

    Good luck!

Woah! Thanks for the information !

I was actually searching about the party flag system thanks for the help on that.

And thanks for the great tools Exactly what I need .

I haven't sat in Ul'Dah a lot to notice the shout and I started leveling THM (stopped PGL for a while I guess). Definitely will keep an eye out for shouts once I hit 30s .

Again thank you very much Taika for the swift response .
