MBTI Test and Jobs that people play

Just thought this was an interesting thread and curious how it shakes down here.

    https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...r-job-class%21

    I got INFP-T (Mediator) myself.

I'm a crazy omni-main, but gravitate to WHM and either one of SCH or SGE. When I play a DPS, it needs to have support healing capability (RDM and SMN have Raise, RDM has Cure), and I'm often that way with Tanks (but they can all heal now, though PLD does have Clemency going for it, and at one time, before SB, could carry Raise for out of combat party recovery. That was nice...)

If you take the time to read many of the replies..
You will notice/see that there is trend among the same-personality types and the jobs they main(likes)
Kinda like your personality determines which job you will like.

    Like...
I'm an introvert - i dont like beeing infront or to lead others => I don't like tank role
I dont like to compete with others => i dont like dps jobs
I pref to be at the back and help others => Healer is the only role..that i feel match me.

WHM has always been my default pick, but I generally play whatever the group wants. For DPS I'm so used to being a support one trick that it feels strange if I don't have some kind of support kit on hand, RDM was my poison for a bit and currently it's DNC.

I dont like to compete with others => i dont like dps jobs
The human mind is an interesting thing. I'm super competitive but I get more enjoyment seeing how far I can push others along than myself. Thus I gravitated to classes like EQ Shamang, FFXI Brd and WoW Shaman.

I got capri- I mean Logistician ISTJ.

Fisher > blue mage > war/sch >drk/whm. Used to play dragoon and summoner/monk/bard semi frequently but don’t like the endwalker variant of the latter trio really and just stopped playing dps at some point.

Ooo, I'm the same MBTI as Sebazy.

WHM and RDM. I like playing casters, so tanks don't usually tickle my fancy. I get the appeal of weird trickster wizards, and I enjoy having access to their tools, but I prefer powering through things first and doing tricky things when the first whack doesn't do the job.

    INFJ-T, advocate.

My main would be Sch/Sge following those it would be Mch/Blm and for tanks I enjoy War the most.

Did anyone stumble across this page?

    https://www.16personalities.com/arti...sonality-types

I thought it was pretty interesting. It's all statistical, so that means "trends" or "average/majority with this personality type", so individual people can be different, of course. But I do think it's interesting that these trends exist. For example, for my INFP "Mediator", this is said, and MY GOD does it ring true:

Even though they are an inherently peaceful personality type, because conflict is so closely tied to not only video games, but to the very nature of gaming itself, Mediators may find themselves in high-pressure, conflict-ridden situations more than once. The fact that this personality type is the most likely one to pick a supporting character (51.39% of Mediator respondents said so) speaks volumes about their desire to stay as far away from conflict as possible, even if they cannot avoid it entirely.
In line with our individualistic deviations, I can lead (when I feel it's necessary) = play Tank, and I will flex to DPS (again, when necessary for the good of the group); but in both cases, I tend to prefer ones that at least give me options to engage at range and ability to heal. It's why PLD, RDM, and SMN are my go-to Jobs when I can't fill a Healing spot.

But in line with the statistics, my own tendency is also to chiefly focus on Support or ideally Healing classes, and the more pure and focused on that niche of aiding others, the better. And like with the statistics, I prefer casters, and when I can't do that, archers/ranged or stealth classes (in FFXIV, when I have to play something else, MCH, BRD, and NIN are my go-tos when forced; DNC probably WOULD be except I still have a grudge against it not being a healer that I've never forgiven it for, lol)

    .

We're all individuals, but I do think there's some truth to the statistics. Even when I branch outside of my chosen role, it's almost always because the needs of the group as opposed to it being my first choice, and almost always me leaning to the ones that have the most healing/raising or more rarely, damage mitigation, capability. I'm pretty much with Zeastria overall.

INFJ-T, The Advocate again. Being a paranoid, I've taken the test several times at different point in the past just to be sure of its consistency lol.

Omni-healer myself, with SCH/AST being my top pick. If I need to flex for friend's group to another role, my next top picks would be RDM, DNC, BRD, or NIN. I also have a soft spot for WAR, GNB, and BLM.
