    PvP dev team?

    Its pretty clear as other threads have mentioned that a lot of the changes done to PvP are completely nonsensical. Adjustments are made that are often unwarranted, that nobody was calling for that ruins the job, both in competitive, and non competitive environments. The shatter map was probably the greatest indication of just how much they don't understand PvP. It's clear to me that whoever is making the decisions in regards to PvP is completely out of touch with what the players want.

    I'm not saying not all of the changes they've made in EW so far are awful. 6.1 overall has been a large step forward for making PvP an enjoyable experience. However since then they've been taking many steps backwards.

    Its clear that either;

    The current PvP dev team is completely out of touch with what they're doing.

    or

    There is no PvP dev team, and PvP changes are being implemented by people who don't understand PvP.

    If Square has any intention of taking PvP seriously, I think its warranted that an actual team of people who know PvP inside and out take over the direction of PvP content, and they consider listening to feedback and more thoroughly play testing their changes before throwing them into patches.

    Yes +1 this thread because I agree. The maps are ridiculously unbalanced, im all for a fun map here and there but competitively its atrocious. Certain jobs need to be tweaked, there NEEDS to be a better proactive answer to being CHAINSTUNNED. Also, damage reduction on certain jobs.

    Maps need to be more basic, no more of this extra stuff, just have static maps with multiple routes that would add complexity as your progress in improvement at the game. I don't think they knowbwhat they're doing either its annoying

    I don't know how people manage to constantly complain about being chainstunned in FLs. I don't understand how you end up being chainstunned. You have purify. Use the button, it removes the stun, then you can run away. And if you get chained CCed past those 5s of immunity, then you were probably caught alone pants down by a blob of 24 players and you probably deserved the punishement.

    Maps needs less pve objectives besides basic ones (this is pvp, not pve), and they need rng (within control to prevent silly situations where the winning team gets the last S tier node). The worst map ever was Secure, and the reason it's so boring is because you always do the same things, the same back and forth, every game, because every objective is static not only in time, but in location as well. Good riddance to it.

    Scenario1: Random Stun from a random person that does not even target you---> purify----> running away----> DRK pull---->running away----> DRK pull---> running away---> WAR pull--->miracle of Nature and then some other 4787491 CC's purify does not remove--->dead.

    Scenario2: Purify bugs out and you are dead anyway.

    You have 5s of immunity to run away. If you literally jumped alone in a blob with your frontlines nowhere to be seen behind you, or got caught pants down alone somewhere in the wilds, you deserve to die to this. I never have personally, it's almost ludicrously too easy as melee to go back to your lines. If you're going melee IN FRONT OF YOUR TEAM as a ranged, then I'm questioning your sanity.

    It's possible that the case mentioned by Ransu is a problem, but i'm not too positive on that so i'll believe you, especially in FLs.

    You are not reading correctly and you dont play pvp. Otherwise you would know that you HAVE NO IMMUNITY to DRK pulls.

    In Scenario 1 i wrote: "Random Stun from a random person that does not even target you" How do you get stunned while not being targeted? By standing in a Group of allied players wich got hit by a targeted aoe Stun.

    You are out.

    There is no pvp dev team. There are people perhaps collecting a paycheck with that designation, but it's clear they are stealing from the company at best.

    Overtime needs to go. It's hard enough thinking you might have won only for new players to realize no, the game isn't over yet, much less understand how OT functionally works.

    Purify is still a joke.

    CC chains, pun intended, are still insane.


    No point in playing competitively because it's just chock full of win trade and bots.

    The inability to make groups with competent people is also amusing. I love being stuck with clueless idiots who just came in for the first time during rank-up matches.

    Purify is infuriatingly useless, and its probably the easiest thing they could change to make it better. Give immunity to further CC after its been used for like 3 seconds, or implement diminished returns.

    To fix newbies rushing into ranked headfirst with not even their spells on their bars they could implement a PvP tutorial that you have to complete before you can actually queue into it. But first we need a team of PvP developers who are capable of understanding whats holding FFXIV pvp back, and taking over the direction of PvP moving into 7.0. Because I doubt the people in charge of PvP, assuming there is anyone, know what they are doing. The class balancing will likely be impossible to get 100% even, but the willy nilly nerfs that make literally no sense, and stupid map changes, and lack of incentive to PvP need to go.
