Confused about targeting on controller .

so I read somewhere that while in party if I press dpad up and down I can change targetted party members of my party for healing and if I press left and right dpad it will change the targeted enemies .
Is it like this for ps5 controller or is it different .i am a bit confused about whole thing .

Up and down cycle through the party. Left and right will tab target through whatever target types you have set in your sheathed/unsheathed targeting filters set in /characterconfig



In both cases, the targeting is a soft target unless you change a setting on the target page "Switch target circle to target select"

With this setting turned off (default) your dpad targets will be temporary. You can convert to a hard target with your Confirm button. If you don't, your target will snap back to your hard target after you use one action. This is so that you can do stuff like hard target an enemy to cast attack spells at, soft target a party member, cast a heal, and then immediately go back to attacking the enemy without having to retarget them manually.


Back on the Filters page, you can set four more types of controller targeting filters. Set these to whatever categories you feel a need for.

You can also target enemies by holding R2 and tapping L1 or holding L2 and tapping R1.

Holding L1 and then using up and down on the D-Pad will move you through the enemy list. It is a bit cumbersome, but sometimes usefull.
