    Pandaemonium's Current Whereabouts (Anabaseious Spoilers)

So the memory sealed Erichthonios reveals that pandaemonium survived the final days of the ancients and he was expecting to have to maintain it the entire time throughout the ages. The one we found in the aetherial sea wasn't the original, but a replica created by transmuting portions of Azys La around.

That begs the question. Where the heck is it? Did the sheer age of it mean everything inside of it like the phoenix die off? If not, are they still waiting there, hidden somewhere out there in the world?

If the catastrophes of the intervening ages lead to its destruction on the source as so many other ancient ruins what of the other reflections? We can assume that it was destroyed in the flood of light of the first, but what about others?

I see no reason it wouldn't be just as 'smashed into nothingness by Calamities' as everything else the Ancients made. Which means, yeah, theoretically it could still be standing on the other reflections, except for probably the First as you've mentioned.

Honestly, knowing that Pandaemonium is basically a high-security prison, I'd assume that wherever it (and by extension Elpis) was built, it was a pretty significant distance away from Amaurot. THat could still plausibly put it somewhere on Eorzea, but I think it's more likely it's just at the bottom of an ocean somewhere.

Incidentally: I hope Azys Lla got those pieces back. It doesn't deserve that kinda treatment!

Nope, was outright confirmed that Athena ripped out a chunk of Azys Lla (specifically the Aetherochemical Research Facility, a.k.a. where Lahabrea died), transformed it into Pandaemonium, and slammed it down into the Aetherial Sea.

You could make an argument that she picked the Aitiascope because that was near where Pandaemonium was, though--narratively it's there because it's the part of the Aetherial Sea we have easy access to, but Athena doesn't have any stated reason she slapped it down in that part of the Aetherial Sea, so that reason's as good as any.

But then Azys Lla is a miss-mash of various different regions. So there is the possibility that the Allagans crammed whatever was left of pandaemonium (unbeknownst of it's significance) into the floating mess. Only for Athena to use it for it's recreation.

The floating land masses came from what is now the Burn. Some of the buildings were ported in from different places.

We know where the land came from. The area that would become known as the Burn.

My money would be on it being subterranean or in the Interdimensional Rift somewhere.

It's definitely a loose thread the writers are leaving themselves when they need a cheap and easy filler.
I thought that it was under the islands hidden in the clouds and behind seals, thus hidden deep in the... mawlstrom... below ishgard... fuuuuuuuu

Pandaemonium, like how it was in FF2, is likely deep under the ground, and intact. If I were to place bets on where exactly it could be, there is one particular region of the world we have not gone to, that will likely be filled with creatures that are over level 100 (or whatever the leveling scheme will be for it). I speak of course, of the New World. There are some rather terrifying monsters in the mythologies of the old tribes of the Americas...I could imagine making a number of them true for whatever we encounter in the New World, and some horrific enough to where they'd likely to come out of Pandaemonium itself. An example, the Wendigo.

There should be remnants of it in the First. Anamnesis Anyder somewhat survived so Pandemonium should be able to survive too.
