Visual noise in battle content

Mechanically the battle isn't difficult but to actually see tells through spell effects combined with those of the boss frankly just make my eyes sore.

....and yes, I have had other players spell effects turned off for years.

You say it's hard to see the tells through player spells effects, but also that you have player spell effects turned off. So which is it? I find it very hard to believe that only your spell effects are completely obfuscating the entire arena at all times.

I only turn player effects to the reduced option during raids and it's not a problem at all even as a melee. What specific spells are causing the issue people are describing?
