I've said this before, and I'll say it again; Reaper is NOT an AoE fighter, it excels in getting the single target picks and chasing down people who need finishing off. They are piss poor in the team brawl outside very specific conditions like: you have 8 stacks for plentiful harvest, no one has defensives, and you can LB right afterward for a fat communio. These moments are rewards for picking off the competition one at a time and peeling for your team, NOT the primary gameplan.

The fact that they think changing to guillotine with half the damage would somehow benefit reaper is laughable, equally laughable that they might have thought the nerf was warranted. I wasn't sure about the change at first, but after playing with it for a while I can no longer reliably close out kills as I could before. That last 8,000 potency and extra GCD was EVERYTHING for maintaining pressure. The intended effect of being able to hit more people changes almost nothing; I can't even hit more than one player with it the majority of times because reaper is kitted for taking players who are out of position, killing them, then TPing back to friendly lines.

Reaper needed buffs, or failing that they could have just stayed as is. Instead, we received a change from a dev that has no inkling of knowledge on the class itself. Par for the course it seems, because I still remember the huge backlash about kaiten and they tripled down on it.
